Highlights
  • Piet’s Pier Bar - Why not take the opportunity to go scuba diving during your stay in Aruba? This specific scuba diving course is a great introduction to this popular water sport. Nothing compares to the weightless freedom of diving and with expert instructors on hand. No previous experience is necessary! The boat is built with easy access to the dive platform featuring twin drop down ladders, a two tiered photo table for camera and video equipment, a restroom and fresh water showers for rinsing off. The tour will include two hours of instruction in the pool. The theory session teaches students the basic rules for scuba diving such as dealing with pressure, breathing on scuba, and how to use the equipment. Then you will take a 1.5 hour boat trip where you will do a 1-tank open water dive of approximately 30-40 minutes. The dive boat goes to a shallow reef or wreck and an instructor will accompany you at all times underwater. Dives are in the 20-30’ range. All instruction and necessary equipment is included.

You won’t regret it ! - If you are on the fence about scuba diving just do it ! I was so nervous and our instructor helped to ease my anxiety during our pool practice and before getting into the ocean . Very knowledgeable as he has been doing this for 40 plus years! I cannot wait to come back to Aruba and do this experience again .

Scuba diving in Aruba - The staff was amazing. Not being a certified diver (only my 2nd dive), Danny was so patient and thorough with his instructions so all of us felt comfortable with the experience. Once we were on board heading to the dive site, Danny reviewed everything once more. In the water, we saw a large variety of tropical fish you only see in pet stores. We even saw an eel, a dragonfish (I think) and a turtle. Certified or not, I will book my next dive with them, the next time I am in Aruba.

Great SCUBA intro - This was a great intro class. I have an open water certification but it’d been a few years so I did this with my wife & sister. The pool instruction was really good for a vacationer’s level class. The instructor took extra time with one of the students who was more nervous and stayed with her during the dive too. The actual dive site was pretty good too. Plenty of colorful fish to see but no sensitive coral for the newbies to tear up.

Do not go Scuba Diving with Red Sail unless you are and experienced diver! - This dive purports to be an "introductory" scuba dive, but it is definitely not for beginners. We spent about 15 minutes in the pools while the instructor quickly when through a few lessons and hand signals. Then we waited over an hour and a half to go on an old dive boat that reeked of diesel fuel. there were 8 other experienced divers and I was the only beginner. When we got to the diving spot offshore, the instructor told everyone to jump in one by one. After going down holding on the rope about 10 feet, the instructor let go of the rope to go assist another diver, so I let go of the rope and started swimming around. I ended up back at the surface. The instructor then swam up to me and motioned for me to go back to the boat, which I did, ending the scuba dive after about 5 minutes. When the instructor and other divers returned to the boat about 25 minutes later, he proceeded to chastise and berate me for not following his instructions under the water. I told him I hadn't seen his hand signal for me to just stay put holding on to the rope when he swam away to assist the other diver, but he continued to blame me rather than taking any responsibility for his poor and rushed instructions before the dive. Bottom line, they need a new instructor if they are going to take beginners on a scuba trip. Dive with Red Sail at your own risk.
