Åselidalen
This valley, shaped by glaciers over hundreds of thousands of years, boasts pristine mountain lakes and waterfalls, enclosed by towering heights. An ideal base for a tranquil trekking day out in Northern Norway begins from Bodø.
Bodø is renowned for its outstanding hiking trails, its varied terrain and the ready availability of mountain routes. It’s a must-visit destination for hiking aficionados.
The Concealed Valley: The Børvasstindane mountain range is home to Bodø’s iconic mountains. Åselidalen – also known as ‘The Concealed Valley’ – slices into the mountains in-between the Åselitindan and Falkflågtindan mountain ridges.
Summits: Circling the valley are rugged summits, all towering above 1,000 metres sea level. Two of them, namely, PerKalsa and Børtind, are preferred hiking spots among the local people.
