Amazing organic coffee tour experience with a brilliant host - This was an unplanned and unscheduled tour, but it turned out to be one of the best things we did in the whole of our trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar! We had a day to kill in Arusha, and had already experienced the city with all it's hustle and bustle, so were thinking of an alternative way to spend part our last day. Being coffee lovers with a preference for low key and more personal tours, this one fitted our needs perfectly. Cosmas was very quick to respond, and organised a taxi to pick us up from the city centre for the short trip to his beautiful small farm, set in the forested foothills of Mount Meru. Cosmas was a fantastic host and guided us excellently around his lovely farm, and through the coffee growing, harvesting and traditional coffee making process, which were involved in. Then right through to drinking the coffee in the most gorgeous setting with Mount Meru in the background (clear days only, but still a gorgeous backdrop through the forest). I cannot wait to grind the beans I purchased from here one day soon, and enjoy a cup of this stunning coffee in memory of this brilliant experience! Thanks again Cosmas, and good luck with all the great work you do in your local community!

Organic coffee and local food tasting experience - I recommend this organic coffee and local food tasting tour 100%! I had the privilege of having a private tour with Cosmas, the owner of the coffee plantation. I will never again look at a cup of coffee the same way! I have learned and done the whole process of making coffee from picking up the beans to enjoying a cup of coffee made by yours truly!!! The local food tasting was great as well and Cosmas is an excellent guide and makes this tour a beautiful experience 😊

Great coffee tour! - The coffee tour beat our expectations by a large margin. Kosmos, the owner, demonstrated the whole process from plant to cup in great detail and organized a wonderful meal at the end of the tour. A highly recommended excursion!

Awesome, enjoyable and informative day! - Enjoyable and informative day. The coffee was great. Even if you aren't a coffee drinker, you'll enjoy this excursion. We had a large group book this and at least 3 were no coffee drinkers but really enjoyed this AND drank the coffee. I had no idea how difficult it is to harvest and prepare coffee for export. The views were awesome, and the lunch was very enjoyable. I really enjoyed getting to see and hear about the local coffee farmers experiences.

Great Tour - Great Coffee - This was a really nice tour! It was in a beautiful setting and we learned how coffee is grown, harvested, dried, roasted, and served. I don’t drink coffee but I did drink this coffee!! We also tasted local foods prepared in the village - so good! The guide/owner and his family are welcoming and super-happy people. This is a must do if you’re in Arusha!

DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!! - this was the best tour of any kind I have ever done. It was authentic and could not be any better. We went to his family's home near Mt. Meru and learned a lot about their tribe, coffee and its role in the economy.

Amazing authentic Tanzanian experience - I loved loved loved that tour. One of the most authentic experiences I had in Tabzania. The location is breathtaking and serene. They show you how coffee is made from plants to warm brown liquid in your cup. I enjoyed a fruitful amazing coffee with a stunning view. Usually I am not a big fan of black coffee but this one really got to my heart. Later we had a true authentic Tanzanian local cuisine. I cannot express how much pleasure and excitement it brought to me. Cosmos is very welcoming and helpful. I insistently recommend this experience to everyone who has such an opportunity!

Great experience in coffee farm and help for social project outside of Arusha for orphaned children - The small coffee farm is embedded in very scenic nature outside of Arusha. You are surrounded by banana trees, all sorts of plants and flowers, small animals and of course … coffee plants. The farm is a family set-up and on the same ground Cos has established also a small orphanage for children. With your visit you are also supporting this project. The experience on the farm is great, you learn how coffee is grown on a small scale, come to know the family and just enjoy a wonderful calm and natural atmosphere. When you are lucky, you may see some monkeys jumping around in big trees in a not so far distance. When the weather allows, you will have a wonderful view of the Mount Meru, while sitting in a small treehouse and enjoying a tasty cup of home made coffee - made by yourself. All in all a very recommendable excursion if in Arusha and a valuable contribution to help some orphaned children.

Pricy Lesson - The tour is operated by a local small family and held at their property with a small garden of coffee trees and bananas. You can experience the whole process of coffee making, from picking cooffee berries to roasting beans, after which you can enjoy coffee you made. Their first hand explanation about coffee production was interesting. Having said these, given the tour is basically just visiting one of the local families, and listening to a non-professional opinions, it seemed too pricy. S Also, to make matters worse, they even tried to rip off us for the transport fees. They charged 40$!! for the transport from our hotels and the tour venue. To be honest, this tour cannot be recommended.
