- Nizwa Souk - The tour starts in the morning, we’ll drive towards Nizwa. Nizwa was the capital of Oman during Al Yaruba Dynasty we’ll visit the famous Nizwa Souq (Market). a wide variety of vendors offer their goods in the streets of the souk from here you can find, vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, Omani sweets (halwa), Dates, spice, and souvenirs which are sold in authentic old market halls that few places can boast. Especially interesting is the Friday cattle market when the locals come to sell their, goats, cattle, sheep, and chickens in a circus style open marketplace.

- Nizwa Fort Oman - Next to the Souq is the Nizwa fort and castle the fort it’s been built in 1649 and the castle been build in 888. The fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains. You can walk around in this impressive fort and castle with many passages rooms. The fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century. It was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time. Even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defenses.

Highly recommended! - I booked the trip to Nizwa and Jabal Akhdar and had a great time today! All thanks to Haroun, our driver and guide. He was punctual, entertaining and patiently took us around the various sites across Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar. He seemed to know everyone in the village, which especially came in handy when we wanted to do a couple of pit stops on the way. He even went out of his way to help me make other bookings for the rest of our Oman trip and was empathetic when our plans changed. You can count on him in times of need. Coming to the sites, if I had to choose between the two, I’d consider Nizwa to be the highlight. Its a sight to behold amidst the mountains and you can count on getting some great pics. Highly recommended!

Nice day in Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar - This is a nice tour, also for the very hot summer days. Jafaar was a very attentive guide. In the morning we went first to Nizwa to the see the souk and the fort. Afterwards we headed to the green mountains (Jebel Akhdar), where we first visited an rose oil and rose water production place. After that I could do a small walk through the terraces by myself, while Jafaar waited on the other end with the car. We had lunch at a very nice restaurant in a terrace outside, since in the mountains with wind the temperature gets more enjoyable. After a last beautiful view from the region from Diana's viewpoint we headed back to Muscat.

A memorable and enlightening experience - A very memorable experience with our tour guide Nasser Al Jabri. Starting the journey we were already discussing the history, culture, and traditions of Oman. He gave us a step by step plan of the every location. He also took us to locations that were beyond our expected itinerary, and showed us the perfect spots that showcased the true beauty of Oman with the added suggestions for the perfect locations to take pictures. He was always ensuring our wellbeing and that we were comfortable. There was an exchange of culture and tradition that really opened our eyes to a whole new world. He delivers information that really sticks and becomes memorable.

Wonderful experience - Excellent place to visit with family, Jamal was a excellent tour guide and did a good job.
The irrigation system was fun to see and explore.

A great experience - Jaffar was an excellent experienced and very personable guide. He knows all about not only the places we visited, but also about Oman, its people, culture, government, history, and religious practices. We travelled in air conditioned comfort, had lunch in a lovely restaurant, and experienced a 20 minute walk from one village to another surrounded by mountains and rugged scenery.
