Tombs and Temples! - Our guided tour in Luxor for the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Karnak Temple was covered by an Egyptologist Mr. Ahmed Musa who had been an inspector at several excavation sites and thus, was very informative and enjoyable. Though there was a miscommunication with regards to what was covered or not, everything was sorted the day we left. Overall we had a good time. Special mention to our driver in Luxor Waleed who gave us a tip of how to remember the name ‘Hatshepsut’- “just say ‘Hot chicken soup’”, he said and that’s going to stay with us. It was a fun trip.

Great day in Luxor with Mohammed - My group spent spent a full day with Mohammed when we were in Luxor. We started early, the pickup was from the boat's reception and we headed out to the Valley of the Kings. Mohammed was a well of information, his studies in Egyptian history and his previous experience working in the Valley museum really show. The level of information was just right and he finds a good balance between historical facts and details about how life went on for the people working in the Valley Tombs. I didn't feel like taking a history class in high-school :D Our tour covered the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's temple, the Karnak temple complex and Luxor temple In each temple, our guide either gave as a briefing of facts and what we are about to see and sent us to visit it (some of the temples don't allow guides to go in), or walked with us and showed us the most interesting parts. After each guided visit we got some time for pictures and wandering around. At the end of the day, Mohammed's team gave us a lift to the airport to catch our flight back home. All in all, I had a great day with Mohammed and I recommend him for guided tours in Luxor.
