The tour guide was... - The tour guide was EXCELLENT!!! He had a beautiful way to share so many knowledge in 2 languages , that we didn't get bored not even for a minute. Also he had a great personality that made it even better! The drivers were friendly and careful! Unfortunately, the bus itself, was at the worst possible condition...the roof top was getting rain water from many places and the air system transfer was broken.

History up close & personal - Very early start for this one. (at least one of our party overslept for the 6:30 am start/pick up & missed out), so don't forget to set your alarms. Also a marathon at around 14hrs. We were met and picked up just north of times square by the very pleasant Alan our tour guide for the day. You will travel in a sprinter type bus or full size coach dependant on party size. As our party consisted of only eight we travelled in the sprinter vehicle. The downside being no toilet facilities or on-board wi-fi. The upside is that this allows for faster turnarounds at the various locations you visit throughout the tour. Alan was a very informative guide and made the whole experience very immersive and educational. From the moment the bus leaves he's informative style of commentary begins with the description & history of the Hells Kitchen district of NY City. As you pass through Jersey & onward to Washington the facts & figures keep coming. He does take a break though so you can get some shut eye if you need it. We stopped at a service station about two & half hours into the journey for refreshments & toilet opportunities. (There's no eating or drinking allowed on the bus. Only screw top bottles of water or juice. No hot drinks etc). We finally reached Washington around late morning and the first location we stopped at was Arlington cemetery. What a surreal place. We then took in visits to the Jefferson & Lincoln Memorials then onto the Korean memorial. (A fantastic spectacle, see photos). this was followed up by visits to the Washington monument, White House, Capitol Building and on to lunch at Union Station. Leaving Washington around mid afternoon we set off on the return leg with another service station stop about half way through the Journey. We arrived back at the pick up point around 8pm. The highlights of the day for me personally were the Arlington cemetery experience & the Korean war memorial. Visiting the Kennedy's graves and listening to Alan's in depth knowledge of the family and the history surround them was brilliant. Better than any documentary you will see. You could sense the emotion In Alan as he described those sombre events of November 1963. As for the Korean memorial, It's hard to put into words the impact it has on you. Those statues feel like they will come to life at any moment. Brilliant. Overall a fantastic day out made all the more enjoyable by having a first rate guide who 'knows he's stuff'. You will come away with a much better understanding and appreciation of U.S. History. In our opinion it's definitely value for money and highly recommended.

Just book it! You won’t regret it. - We loved our trip to Washington and would highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Alan, was so informative and knowledgeable and our driver, Carlos, was great. The day was broken up with rest stops and Alan provided clear instructions as to how long we had before moving on. The visit to Arlington was very special. Don’t hesitate, just book your tour.

Politically overreached and factually wrong about current topics - Good excursion to do if you want to visit DC conveniently. However, the tour guide was highly opinionated and shared some inexpiably unfactual comments such as "Sam Houston was murdered in the Alamo along with everyone else" (Sam Houston wasn't even at the Alamo that day, and there were survivors) or "Trump was photographed here with a bible after the contesting of the election" (it was after the George was saFloyd rioting/looting) The guide seemed knowledgeable but intentionally changed facts to convey his line of thinking, which is inappropriate for a tour, particularly when you are talking to people who may not have enough background on certain topics. In my experience during these types of tours, the more objective and less biased approach serves for a more enriched experience.
