Brilliant gallery experience - We loved this Museum. We'd gone hoping to see their Basquiat but not on display. Regardless it was a brilliant 'gallery' experience. Incredible exhibits that both I and my 11 year old loved. Friendly staff, especially the 'amazing lift' operator with a love for the educational floor and from the roof great views over the city. In a brilliant area alongside the Hudson River, nearby park and adjacent to the High Line park to walk back. Brilliant ...couldn't recommend enough. And children are free.

Totally recommended - First time in this museum, invited by an artist friend. Large spaces that allow the observation of the exhibited works. Among what caught my attention is the following: ☑️ Gender diversity among authors ☑️ Selection of works that talked about birth and death ☑️ Carlder's Circus ☑️ The view that is presented of the place, politics and time Happy to have discovered this museum.

Always part of my NYC trip - A nice visit on Valentines Day. The staff were kind and suggested a membership as I would be back; I took advantage of the membership price for someone from out of town. I was happy that they had an Indigenous and Black exhibit. It was really moving and felt like home. It was nice to see the works respected. I look forward to see what they share in the future. The views from the top and the stairwell are a great plus to visiting; sunset can be a really nice time to be there. I wish the shop had more options, especially with the size of prints. I enjoyed the restaurant and will definitely go back.

Home for modern and contemporary art - Located in the Meatpacking District, I'm told this property has the largest column-free museum gallery in NYC. We went specifically to see "Henry Taylor: B Side", a solo exhibit showing from October through January 2024. The opening Henry Taylor paintings show a celebration of black life in addition to acknowledging hardships. "See Alice Jump" shows Alice Coachman (a high jumper in the 1940s) leaping over an invisible barrier in a dull-colored neighborhood. She became the first black woman ever to win Gold at the Olympics. The image seems to burst out of the canvas. There is a section dedicated to black legends (Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King) as well. Heroes are depicted in Henry's work in addition to everyday people. People are always the main attention. Go on line to the museum's website to get tickets.

Is scamming an art? - We went to visit this museum with a very favorable outlook based on what the guide said…big disappointment! Supposedly 20,000 works were exhibited there Once our tickets were purchased, we were told that floor 5 and 6 were closed, not very honest! We went up to the 8th floor, a very average painting exhibition, to the 7th the same, the remaining floors nothing (!) as for the architecture of Renzo Piano, very average and not very original contrary to what our guide said!

Aggravating and no benefit. Whitney personnel said I was mis directed to viator instead of directly to the Whitney Museu - Thinking Viator was connected with and accepted by the Whitney Museum- they did not accept the reservation sent me by viator!
