Doris - the delight of Harlem - We had a fabulous morning tour of Harlem by the lovely Doris Lee - who was as entertaining as she was informative. Being taken round by someone local, who clearly cares about the area gave us a real feel for the Harlem of old and today. If we could have adopted Doris, we would have. She was very generous with her time even after the tour was over. She took us by bus to the Apollo theatre which was steeped in musical history -and left us at Sylvia's where we had some amazing soul food. Highly recommend this tour

Harlem walking tour - I went to this tour as it was offered within the new york pass. I really enjoyed the tour, there were only 3 people plus the guide, who very nice and calm and informative. He showed us many nice streets, the uni, hamilton house. He also showed us his favourite club, cafes etc. The pace was really slow which I actually enjoyed and took plenty photos. The neighbourhood is lovely.
