Additional Information

This excursion delves into the genesis of the American Jewish society, a group that has enriched American history from colonial times. While more recent American Jewish history is extensively investigated, rarely do we delve into the narratives of the earliest Jewish settlers, the establishment of the first synagogue, and the Jews implicated in the Revolution. We’ll journey back to the first enduring Jewish inhabitants of North America, examine their survival, prosperity, and their critical role in the annals of American and Jewish history.

Hidden Harlem Gems - Although I've lived in/just outside of Manhattan my whole life, I've never taken a deeper exploration into Harlem until today! Jonathan led a Jewish History of Harlem tour that was the perfect balance of informative, fun and easy to understand. We meandered the streets, stopping every few blocks for another piece of history we would've otherwise overlooked. His knowledge of the city as a whole, and this neighborhood (as well as many others that found their way into our conversations) was evident. It is clear he has a passion for history and culture and I'd be interested in joining another one of his tours soon!
