Highlights
  • National Museum of the American Indian - We will meet outside the entrance to the museum and discuss an overview of the both Dutch and English Colonial New York. We don’t enter the museum.
  • Charging Bull (Wall Street Bull) - We will discuss the famous statue’s history and how it came to be located where it is. Time for pictures will be allowed.
  • Beaver Street - We will walk along Beaver Street on our way to the eastern portion of Wall Street. Along the way we will discuss Native American and Colonial economies and currencies.
  • Pearl Street & Wall Street - This intersection is packed with history. The New York Slave Market, Buttonwood Agreement, and Tontine Coffee House all happened at or within steps of this location.
  • 55 Wall St - This location was home to the New York Merchant Exchange and the first New York Customs House.
  • William Street & Wall Street - 40 and 48 Wall Street both housed two institutions that financed the building of both NYC and the country. They have founders that you will have heard of from a popular broadway show.
  • 23 Wall St - The House that Morgan Built. We’ll discuss the odd history of this odd building that includes among other things a Robber Barron, a bombing, and a sketchy foreign billionaire.
  • Federal Hall - More of a civic rather than financial history stop, but would be impossible to walk past without discussing.
  • New York Stock Exchange - This location needs no introduction, but we will review it’s history! A bonus to this stop is the Fearless Girl Statue directly across the street.
  • Trinity Church - Our final stop will be a church, after all every dollars says In God We Trust.
