Highlights
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Start at the Met, where your guide will show you a collection that rivals those of the Louvre and British Museum. With no less than 2 million works of art and artifacts on hand, the Met showcases objects from Ancient Greece and Egypt as well as modern art from Europe and beyond. During this tour, you’ll start at the sumptuous Great Hall before moving to the museum’s most important galleries. In the Medieval Europe Gallery you’ll learn about the Studiolo from the Ducal Palace as well as armory worn by Henry VIII. The American wing hosts the staircase from the Chicago Stock Exchange as well as the iconic portrait of Washington crossing the Delaware River. Learn about the turbulent and inspiring lives of several European painters including Vermeer, Seurat, and Van Gogh in the European wings. The museum itself has stories to tell, and your guide will explain how this American gallery differs from its older European counterparts, especially since it began before the United States was even 100 years old!

So helpful! - Katherine was amazing. We learned so much with her as our guide. We would be just wandering around clueless if we did the Met on our own.

Go with Mark - Mark is an amazing guide and teacher. His guidance made an otherwise intimidating Met experience digestible and very, very enjoyable. We can’t say enough great things about Mark’s tour. We highly recommend to anyone, new or experienced at the Met, to go on a tour with Mark. You’ll see and discuss things you wouldn’t by yourself.

Babylon Tour and Katherine was by far best NY experience! - Katherine was our amazing guide! We did the semi private tour. She had such deep knowledge of the art, the history, and the stories behind the artists themselves. She had an iPad also with supplemental photographs. Her passion of art and knowledge of the history of the MET made the tour very special!. I highly recommend her! What a great experience and we needed more days to see all the exhibits!

Informative tour of the Met - Our guide Jonathan was very informative and entertaining in leading a disparate group through the Met. His knowledge and insight added great value to the tour and had me questioning some of my long held views about aspects of art and history. A great experience!
