Insightful and friendly - Dan was my guide and he was very insightful about the history and knowledge of the neighbourhood. I went to the Little Italy tour which Dan was also my tour guide, there were some overlaps but he was just as insightful

Chinatown history and secrets - We had a great time during this Chinatown tour! Chinatown seems a place tourists can easily walk in alone, but with the same ease they can get lost. Our guide Dan brought us to all the most interesting spots, illustrating us the history and raise of Chinatown. He also pointed out the most interesting personalities in the history of the neighborhood. We ended our tour with a visit of the American Chinese Center, with photos and documents dated back to the beginning of the XX century! I also highly recommend the Little Italy tour, also operated by Tommy's New York, that we did on the same day always with Dan.

Thumbs up for family with teens - Our tour guide Dan was great and we really enjoyed the whole time. Dan was really knowledgeable about the history of the area, both long ago and more recently. He kept the pace lively and while I’d worried my teenagers might get bored, they never did. Seeing inside the temples & community center was special; something we’d not have been able to figure out on our own. Our family also ate at 2 of the places Dan recommended; yum. We ended up adding on the Little Italy tour as well, also well worth the time.

An informative and fun tour of Chinatown - We purchased the Chinatown walking tour through the GO Pass. We showed up near the Chinatown Information Kiosk on time and our guide was there waiting for us. The tour was very pleasant and informative, as we walked around Chinatown for around 90 minutes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. He delved into detail about the history of Chinese immigration into United States West Coast and then, the East Coast and subsequently about how Chinatown became established in New York. I found his narration compelling and interesting. Towards the end of the tour, he gave us some recommendations for spots to grab lunch, that was also a nice touch! We came away from the tour with a much deeper understanding of the Chinese community in New York, and I have this tour to thank for that!

Worth it! - Guide was knowledgeable and it was convenient to have someone do the work for me in determining where to go. The guide was personable and gave time for pictures and questions, and lunch recommendations. Access to the benevolent building was interesting and added a lot. Guide had some strong opinions on current events and while we were in general agreement, I could see where that could get awkward quick! Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Not a good fit for kids or families - The tours listed all ages. Opinions/bias of our tour guide overshadowed and colored the tour. Some information not appropriate for a 9 year old.
