Additional Information

Greenwich Village has historically been a hub for grassroots activism and societal transformation, so it’s fitting that our food tour shines a spotlight on some of the top small-scale enterprises run by women, immigrants, and individuals of diverse racial backgrounds.

As we make our way through the tour, we’ll explore the intriguing past and culture of Greenwich Village, from its origins as a center of bohemia in the early 1900s to its standing as a refuge for activists and their causes. And of course, we won’t miss out on tasting some scrumptious food!

We only visit locales owned by women and minority communities on this tour. By patronizing these businesses, you are not only contributing positively to the local economy, but also championing diversity and inclusivity in the culinary sector, all while having an enjoyable gastronomical and cultural experience in a legendary neighborhood.

Great way to get to know the city - Seth was a great tour guide. Passionate about good food, really knowledgeable and spot on politics. I particularly liked our first stop, Mille Nona because you got to meet the owners and hear their story. More like that please.

A Lovely Way to Spend the Day - I went on the Greenwich Village food and history tour with Lara Smith, and it was spectacular. One of my favorite things about NYC is watching the architecture change around you as you are just naturally traversing the streets, but to have fascinating details and facts to supplement the view is enriching. It's not all ancient history either, all the women in the group swooned when we hit the two buildings that served as the exterior of the "Friends" apartment buildings. So, it's not just appealing to history and architecture nerds like me. Speaking of extra benefits, the food stops are well curated and thought out. There's savory and sweet choices, and they're these little local-owned shops so you feel good supporting these non-conglomerates. Each one offered up something delicious to try, though the hardest part was picking just one thing to leave room for all the other stops, however it was all perfectly sized to satiate cravings without leaving you heavy and slow. This tour is a great way to see the charm of the city, learn, try several great dishes, and get your steps in. I'm eager to sign up for another one when next I visit.

Greenwich Village Food Tour - Eat Like a Local! - As a native New Yorker, I am very used to playing tour guide, so I was skeptical when invited to attend the Greenwich Village Food Tour. It was AMAZING! We started out in the historic Washington Square Park. Our guide, Lara, shared so much history about the Park that I didn’t know and we visited truly authentic and delicious female and immigrant owned eateries. We had a truly local experience and I will take my family and friends when they are in town!

Discover the Flavors and Culture of New York's Picturesque West Village Neighborhood - This was truly an exceptional NYC experience! My wife and I took the tour with our infant, and it turned out to be the perfect outing for us. The guide was well-informed, and the food we sampled was both varied and utterly delectable. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to explore one of New York's most enchanting neighborhoods, rich in cultural and historical significance, largely shaped by the immigrants and minorities whose distinct flavors are evident in each of the distinctive stops on this culinary journey. Suitable for all ages!
