Great trip - Fantastic trip, group of 9 plenty to see and was a good length. The commentary by Darius was fantastic, really made the trip. Not too many seats downstairs however we spent most the time on the deck. Price was worth it included a downstairs bar/cafe

Stress-free viewing - I actually booked the Starship Landmark 90-minute Sightseeing Cruise the same day on TripAdvisor, after talking to locals about the Statue of Liberty experience. We went on a Saturday in mid-December at 4PM, and I’ve done a ton of research, so listen up if you want to save yourself a couple of hours. There are a few ways to see Lady Liberty, each with pros and cons: 1. Visiting the island via Statue City Cruises I wouldn’t recommend this. Security lines can take hours, and once you’re on the island, your view of the statue is actually limited because you’re too close. 2. Staten Island Ferry It’s free, but extremely crowded—shoulder to shoulder. It doesn’t get close to the statue, and the round trip takes about 90 minutes for roughly 90 seconds of viewing. 3. NYC Ferry (MTA) Check the NYC Ferry app for schedules and locations. Like Staten Island Ferry, it doesn’t get close, and many piers are closed depending on the season. 4. Starship Landmark Cruise (my recommendation) Some people say “$28 for a non-VIP ticket is a scam,” but it’s not. The boat has plenty of normal deck seating and a warm enclosed lower deck with a bar and bathrooms. The VIP upgrade gives access to the main interior and a small top deck, but it’s really not worth it—views are already great from the main deck, and the enclosed VIP area’s view is partially blocked by non-VIP passengers. The guide talks over a speaker system and points out landmarks without being obnoxious. The boat stops extremely close to Lady Liberty, giving both sides of the boat about five minutes each to admire and take photos. They even play fun American-themed music during this part. Bonus: the cruise goes under the Brooklyn Bridge, which is fun. Some additional notes: - It’s cold in NYC in winter. Layer up if you want to stay on the main deck for the best views. - Seating isn’t guaranteed during busy times, but we had seats the entire trip. - If you get seasick, take Dramamine beforehand. It’s not bad, but better safe than sorry. - This isn’t a luxury yacht. If you want fancy, pay for fancy. Overall, I loved this boat because I didn’t have to waste brain power calculating return trips or fighting crowds for good views. It’s simple, fun, and stress-free—a great way to see Lady Liberty and enjoy NYC from the water.

Enchanting moment - It’s really a crossing to make! There is a tourist guide on the boat that tells us the story of each iconic tour and some anecdotes. Take the VIP pass to enjoy the meal and private roof access for wonderful photos!

Views - To be in the area that is covered inside is vip and comes out at 40$ additional is warm. But the areas included with your ticket is outside I do not recommend it if you are very friolent! It's very cold! But the views are top notch! Does not include food

Not worth the money - If you don't have VIP you have to go below deck and the windows are filthy. If you go in the winter, or rain, there is no chance of getting photos without braving the elements. This tour is informative, but really just an overpriced Ferry. Might as well get on the free ferry and see all the same buildings, and landmarks. This tour also features a "professional" photographer and says you get a "free" picture. You cannot get a free picture in front of the statue. It's Only free if it's in front of other landmarks. Bad advertising. Not worth the money.

RIP OFF - Designed to make you pay another $40 TO SIT DOWN!!! - Unbelievable & ridiculous experience, do NOT GO unless you want to STAND FOR 90m, could not believe it, boarded boat and CHAIRS/BENCHES HAVE BEEN REMOVED, all for a $40 UPGRADE TO SIT DOWN!!!!! We needed a chair for medical/pain reasons so had to pay for a ridiculous "VIP SECTION", crazy hand made tickets, and $40 TO SIT DOWN! & Told employee I would dispute it, this was ridiculous & UNBELIEVABLE - Have done several, including on this boat, and THERE WERE SEATS... THEY REMOVED THE SEATS! CRAZY!

Do not book this, total rip off. - Horrible experience. We booked this exact trip months prior and had a boat with booths, tables, and table to table service. This boat was a crappy carpeted area with five tin tables and folding chairs that were occupied immediately. There was a second floor with more literal folding chairs and crappy tables that you had to pay an additional $40 to sit at. I said that my friend had a back injury and they still wouldn’t give her a folding chair. There is zero difference in description between these two boats online. It was actually a genuinely terrible experience and the employees were extremely rude when we asked for chairs.
