Bike around Lower Manhattan like a local and understand what you are viewing! - Great bike tour around Lower Manhattan with Robby last week! He was early, ready with my bike, and graciously had a big bottle of water available for me before we began the bike tour. I chose the radical and Weird tour since I wanted more history than the average tourist plus I knew I could never navigate the streets and bike paths as professionally as Robby did on our tour. We had time for discussions, questions and even a nice lunch in a neighborhood park. I throughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it to anyone curious about living in lower manhattan or just curious about the city and its history.

A slice of authenticity in an increasingly fake world. - A lot may have changed in the six years since I last visited NYC, but a bicycle tour with Robby Hillebrand remains the only way to experience the city. Sure you can ‘see’ things with any guide. You can sit on a bus and hear arbitrary facts and you can check off the tourist hotspots while wondering why it all feels so empty. But why would you do that when Freewheelin’ Tours is waiting to engage your soul with speakeasies and art installations, cultural history and dive bars, messenger hang-outs and offbeat eateries. So leave Times Square for the tourists and be absent from your parents’ photos at the Top of The Rock. Instead, lean into the unknown while Mr. Hillebrand takes you by the hand and enlightens you to the side of the city that many locals will never have the fortune to discover.

Exploring Manhattan's Hidden Treasures with Robbie's Friendly Guidance - We are a Parisian couple who had the pleasure of exploring an unusual and off-the-beaten-path Manhattan with Robbie as our guide. He enriched the tour with insightful commentary during our various stops. Robbie knows New York and its hidden gems inside out, and he shares this knowledge from unique and relevant perspectives, including historical, cultural, and political angles. Always attentive and responsive to our interests, Robbie is a highly professional, friendly, and considerate bike guide whom we highly recommend.

Great experience, great tour guide - Robbie is a great guy and very passionate about what he does. Extremely knowledgeable about the city. Overall the tour was an amazing experience. I couldn’t believe how much of the city you could cover in one bike ride!
