Met at the gate of Louis Armstrong park for a wonderful walking tour. - This tour was amazing. The tour guide Malika from Anansi’s daughter deserves all the credit for that. Her story telling showcased the amazing amount of research that went into her narrative. From art to music to religion to history… it was all top notch!

Fact filled and thoughtful tour - Thank you Malika for an informative and entertaining tour. Starting from a low base of zero knowledge of the area, Malika fired facts and history at me at an alarming rate! I think I retained about 33% of it but that’s a lot more than I had when I started. Some sobering stories as well as uplifting ones. The truths, rather than myths, about voodoo and the history of the enslaved and free black population of the area. This tour has prompted me to read and learn more about these subjects. A real eye-opener.
