Strange true tour - New Orleans behind the scenes - Strange true tour was great. Very knowledgeable and interesting. If you book through viator be sure to call the tour company direct to confirm your reservation. Somewhere there is a disconnect.

Oswald in New Orleans - Jeffrey was a great guide and gave us tons of information on his theories and ideas about Oswald in Nee Orleans and the JFK assassination. We also got to see some of the places used in the movie. Great tour for anyone interested in the assassination conspiracy theories. Loved it

Amazing, insightful - Husband and wife team Jeffery and Janice run an awesome tour. Jeffery is very knowledgeable about New Orleans history and he also has amazing background and knowledge on lesser known historical stories. All yours are small personal and small group. You will have a great experience when you book.

Book this tour - skip the rest! - I originally did the Strange True Tour with Jeffrey in 2014. It was my first visit to New Orleans and made me really appreciate the city and what makes it so unique. In late February 2020, I was back in NOLA with a group of 6 friends. Upon arriving, we did a cocktail tour through another company which I would not recommend (such a racket). My friends who had never been in NOLA were having fun, but weren't as enchanted with the city as I had first been. So, I booked another tour with Strange True! They were able to take us with same day booking, and this time, we had Jane as a guide. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Unlike a graveyard, ghost or cocktail tour that focuses only on one aspect of the city, Strange True covers literally everything, from the events in France and Canada leading up to the settling of Louisiana to burial history, from prohibition to drag, burlesque culture all the way through present day political news. Jane literally seems to know everything (not in an obnoxious way), is totally approachable, and was a wealth of knowledge not just about the city but about the music world and life on the bayou. he truly makes you appreciate what makes the area so unique and enchanting, but keeps it honest. She also gave us her cell phone number at the end and encouraged us to reach out for bar/restaurant recommendations. My friends all said at the end that they were sooo glad we did this tour. In my several trips to New Orleans, I have probably done 9 tours and this is hands down the best. Even though I had done it before with Jeffrey, the guides tailor the topics to the group so I still learned tons of new info. I think if you do this one, you can easily skip all other city tours because this covers so much. Thank you, Jane!

Bachelorette party tour - As first-timers to Nola and visiting for a bachelorette party, we were looking to learn a little history while there. This tour was so far beyond our expectations. Our tour guide, Jane, was so knowledgeable and an afternoon with her felt more like an outing with a friend than a guided tour. She presented things in a way that was really fun and it was the perfect addition to our weekend’s events. If I find myself in Nola again, I would not hesitate to book again!

This is THE tour for the NOLA History Buff in you - NOLA is one of my favorite cities in the world! I love the cuisine, I love the culture, I love the Quarter and I love its rich history! Despite relying for years on my own research and discovery, I came across "Strange True Tours" on a recent trip and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Their staff was well-versed, professional, courteous and ever so eager to impart all of their knowledge about the Crescent City and their tour helped fill in a lot of the gaps that were left by my own study of New Orleans. All the trivia, the inside information and the local perspective gave what was already a pulsating city to me, a new life! There are many tours out there and I'm sure each of them have their strengths. However, for a comprehensive, fun-filled tour with all the insider trips that you can handle, give Strange True Tours a whirl. You'll be glad you did! ...and tell them J.R. sent ya!

Best Tour in NOLA! - My family had a fantastic time on Strange True’s Adult History Tour of the French Quarter. No others signed up for our time slot, so the 5 of us got a personal tour. Rev. Jeffery was super fun, very knowledgeable, and an absolutely fantastic storyteller. Though we had already been on a few tours while in New Orleans, this was the best of the vacation. This is a great tour for (fun) history buffs and more casual tourists alike. If I’m ever in town again, I would certainly book another tour with Strange True above other tour companies. We even got some postcards of Rev. Jeffery’s personal photography to go home with! For anyone wondering, this tour was not too risqué for my family even though my parents have a tendency to be squeamish at times. Everyone had a blast!

Great experience, highly recommended. - My wife and I participated in the history tour of the French Quarter and were fortunate enough to secure Loki as our guide. We decided to use Strange True Tours because of their smaller tour size, and lucked out as it was only the two of us in the tour. Loki was passionate from the start and you could tell that his family's long history in the historic parts of New Orleans brings with it a sense of pride as he introduces others to these stories. Things were presented in a factual but engaging manner and the stories wrapped you in so that you almost empathized with the various historical figures he introduces you to. All in all this was a great way to gain some understanding and connection to the city and we would highly recommend it.

Nola Ghost Tour - A group of friends and I booked "The Ghost Tour" for our trip to Nola last weekend. We honestly weren't expecting much, thought it might even be a tad bit ridiculous, but we decided to do despite our doubts! We were so lucky to get Loki as our tour guide and he was incredible. He made the two hour tour absolutely entertaining and packed with history and a couple camp fire stories. He in extremely knowledgeable about New Orleans, the history, what has happened where and also whether or not things are fact or fiction. While all the other groups were out with about 30 people, our group had just give, which made it much more personalized and entertaining! Strange True Tours is an overall excellent and easy company to work with, but best of all was Loki, definitely request him if you get to New Orleans!

JFK Conspiracy Tour - One of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans was the Lee Harvey Oswald/JFK Conspiracy tour. Our guide was David, who was at Kennedy’s inauguration and at his funeral. The tour began at 554 Camp Street, where Guy Bannister’s office was located. (If you've seen the JFK movie or done any research about the assassination, you'll understand why this location is so significant.) There were only four people on our tour besides our guide which was ideal. Initially my husband wasn't that enthused about the tour. His disinterest evaporated quickly as David started speaking. I believe who anyone who is remotely interested in the assassination and or curious about Lee Harvey Oswald's activities prior to November 22, 1963, should call Strange True Tours and request a tour. It's excellent!
