Additional Information

Venturing through the diverse and mysterious avenues of New Orleans’ French Quarter, this distinctive tour offers a refreshing and insightful perspective of the city’s intriguing, and occasionally ominous, past.

Your journey starts from Jackson Square, accompanied by a dedicated guide, penetrating one of the oldest sectors of New Orleans - The Vieux Carre. As you traverse these captivating streets, you’ll uncover tales of how this Mississippi port attracted an inclusive and interesting cast, consisting of outlaws.

Our path includes a detour down Pirate’s Alley, a road shrouded in mystique, and examines the extrordinary narratives linked to the Cabildo - once the base for a penal institution. We’ll also encounter a traditionally grand home with a dark history that encapsulates the complicated interweaving of slavery in our country’s past. An obligatory exploration of the chilling anecdotes regarding voodoo and its alleged queen laid to rest in one of New Orleans’ renowned above-ground burial grounds, is also part of this intriguing tour.

Despite the potential for the chilling narratives to linger, this tour provides an ind-depth look into the city’s rich history leading up to the American Civil War and encompasses an exploration of some of the premier New Orleans landmarks along the way!

A must do tour when visiting New Orleans! - Neil is an absolutely outstanding and knowledgeable tour guide! We learned so much about the creepy haunted historic parts of the French Quarter. My partner is a skeptic when it comes to ghosts and Neil was almost able to convince him! Since it was a private tour he was able to personalize it to our interests which made it an even better experience. My favorite part was when we conducted our own mini ghost hunting session by taking pictures of orbs. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for an educational and entertaining evening!

Great experience! - We had such a good time! Neil was super knowledgeable about the history of NOLA along with all of the creepy ghost stories. I’m not a believer in ghosts myself but my partner is and she and Neil had a good time trying to convince me. It was hysterical! Overall a really cool and fun tour that took us to some interesting parts of the French Quarter.

French Quarter, hidden history, and a great time out! - One of my favorite walking tours! Nola has such an amazing and unique history and this was such a fun way to explore them. Whether you’re a history buff or just want to see a few things you would have missed otherwise, this is a fantastic introduction to the crazy history of New Orleans and the reason it holds a special place in the formation of this country. Grab a friend, a cocktail, some comfortable shoes, and enjoy a great night surrounded by secret windows, dubious dealings, and the “seedier” side of history!

The Real Deal - One of the best tours in town! Whether you’re a history buff or just here for the cocktails, Pepe’s tour has something for you. From corrupt politicians to heroic pirates, Pepe expertly weaves historical fact and folklore in a way that connects his audience to a truly authentic feeling of what is meant when we say New Orleans. His knowledge and passion for the fascinating - and often jaw-dropping - history of the city will have you signing up for more. What an unforgettable way to connect to this worldly city!

He customized our tour based on our interests, and we loved how he mixed in ghosts, history, crime, and vampires. We even got some cool orb pics. I would highly recommend doing this tour! So fun!
