Our excursion through New Orleans encompasses two charming areas, the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny, both esteemed for their architectural beauty and lively music ambiance. Located higher than the Mississippi River, these neighborhoods were untouched by the flooding impact of the 2005 disaster. Among other regions renowned for their musical heritage, you might have heard of Tremé, where we’ll explore the locales famed for their artist-inhabitant history and the location of the popular live music venue, Ernie K-Doe Mother-in-Law Lounge.

Katrina significantly impacted the livelihood of numerous musicians, providing us with an opportunity to contemplate on this catastrophe and the lives it claimed at the Hurricane Katrina Memorial.
