Book everything you can with Kin!! - Kin was absolutely the highlight of my trip to New Orleans! He was so generous with answering all my questions and sharing his stories as someone born and raised New Orleans. Kin was professional, kind, responsive, respectful, funny, and accommodating. I was very impressed with how safely he drove us and how calm he remained with the crazy drivers in the torrential rain! He offers many tours, so I would recommend booking all of the tours you take through him. And of course, remember to be generous with your tips! He is well-worth it!

Best Tour for returning and first time visits - first and foremost this tour was so informative. we like to go on historical tours of plantations because we love learning about the history of the slaves in different parts of the country. Most times you get the story of the owners more so than the owned. This was the first tour we've taken that focused on the enslaved narrative. I appreciated having an actual tour guide instead of the self guided AND being able to get a glimpse of the other plantations in the area as we drove. Our f driver and guide for the day Kindrell is absolutely amazing. He gives you the history of NOLA and points out landmarks as you arrive and leave. He is a great resource for finding spots in NOLA during your stay. You will enjoy every moment on this half day tour. Most definitely recommend!

Invaluable educational tour - Excellent! A real learning experience. It’s long past due that our education system includes the history of the plantations from the slaves perspective. Every American would benefit from this tour and from having a broader understanding of slavery in our country.

Great Experience! - Kindrell gave us a great tour! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter and the day was very well planned including the lunch stop! The experience at Whitney plantation helped us to better understand not only the history of enslavement in America but also its’ legacy. I highly recommend this experience as it really focuses on the perspectives of the enslaved people themselves.

K’s LUXURY TOUR / Whitney Plantation - K’s LUXURY TOUR GUIDE Kindrell (Kin) was a fantastic driver, knowledgable, interesting facts, with an amazing ability to recall names and faces. He came right to the hotel to get us, communicated well with us prior to arrival, his luxury van/bus was SPOTLESS CLEAN, comfortable, and had an excellent audio system. Kin did not rush us, gave us plenty of time at stops, and had a great sense of humor. Kin is born/raised NOLA, has fantastic restaurant recommendations. We happened upon Kin by chance; however we’d only book through him for future adventures. WHITNEY PLANTATION This must be on your bucket list when coming to NOLA! Presented by descendants of the enslaved who experienced the plantation. Justin was our guide (his grandpa’s great grandparents were slaves at Whitney) is an articulate young man, well versed in the history and presentation. Powerful, reflective, dark history. How someone could leave there not realizing how wrong slavery is, would be unimaginable. Hard to believe many try to sugarcoat the entire issue, or worse yet cling to ideology or symbolism of the cause. This was an exceptional experience, the museum quality buildings, grounds, artifacts, history is worth the visit. There are other plantations one may visit but NONE which tell the slave experience. DEFINITELY CONTACT KIN & TOUR WHITNEY
