10/10 would recommend - This was such a fun tour! Asja was a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. She also handled the mule, Cole, very well on a very busy Saturday night in the quarter. This was a perfect tour after a long day walking, and we learned a lot about the history and culture of the city.

June 2026 Carriage Tour - Our tour guide was amazing! The way he told the stories was very interesting. He kept us all involved. Toward the end I of our you, he even asked if any of us needed to use a bathroom. Three of us needed a bathroom (I felt very grateful) so we hopped off, used the bathroom and hopped back on. This was my third carriage tour and all were wonderful. This was my very favorite one.

Well worth it 👍 - The experience was well worth it and KJ was really good. He was entertaining, engaging and knowledgeable as we navigated the streets of New Orleans. Patsy the mule was amazing and didn’t seem fussed by the noise and traffic.

Concerns for the animals - The ride through the French Quarter was enjoyable, and the carriage appeared to be well maintained. However, I left with serious concerns about the treatment of the animals. During the tour, I witnessed the guide blow cigarette smoke directly into the mule’s face while joking, “I’ll get you a beer on your birthday too.” The animals appeared tired and thirsty in the heat, and our mule was foaming at the mouth throughout the ride. There was a water trough at the loading station, but it was completely empty. I arrived about an hour before our departure and noticed it was still empty when we returned an hour later. At no point during my time there did I see it being filled. I understand that regular exercise and activity are important for working animals, but the conditions I observed made me uncomfortable. What started as an enjoyable experience ended with me feeling guilty for supporting an attraction where the animals did not appear to be receiving the level of care they deserved.
