Highlights
- Mississippi River - We start at the Mississippi River, where all our lands were built we talk about the early history from native American settlements to the first French market and West African and Central African slaves first coming to the colony. We stroll down the Riverwalk to Jackson square.
- French Quarter - We take a tour through the French Quarter stopping at historical sites and talking history along the way comparing the Creole and American sides of the city. We discuss how they were settled the differences in culture and architecture before we hop on the streetcar to the Garden District.
- Garden District - We ride the oldest streetcar line in the country St Charles line into the Garden District from the French Quarter. Passing Lafayette square and getting off at Lafayette Cemetery. We will tour many historic mansions along the way before ending the tour at Magazine Street.

My family has a seven-generation history in New Orleans, deeply entrenched in the French Quarter and the Garden District. My childhood was spent attending Audubon Montessori, commuting on the Saint Charles streetcar every day. Further, I was enrolled at Loyola University during the time of Katrina. We will traverse paths that are all too familiar to me :-) I urge you to opt for tours by locals, it significantly enhances the experience!

Great comprehensive tour of New Orleans - Leanne was such a great tour guide! We enjoyed her local's perspective of the city and her knowledge of the history and architecture. The tour was paced just right and is scheduled so that you don't feel like you are wasting tour time when you stop for beignets and coffee. We saw so many beautiful things on the tour and were able to identify things we wanted to go back to and spend more time at after the tour. We felt more confident navigating New Orleans on our own after her insights during the tour. We would highly recommend any tour Leanne offers!
