Don't miss this tour - My daughter and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to take Melanie's French Quarter Walking Tour. As a former educator for many years and a lifelong local resident, Melanie knows her stuff. It was nice to get a local's perspective on life in the area and to hear her personal life stories. She made us feel comfortable as well. I highly recommend her tour!

Best way to start a trip to Nola - This tour was our first stop before a full weekend in Nola and it was hands down the best way to start the trip. We got so much context and history, so when we explored the city on our own everything had a meaning. Melanie does a fantastic job explaining things, answering questions, and is clearly very passionate about the topic. She covers all bases and we are so appreciative. Highly recommend!

Extraordinary tour guide built no deep knowledge and conspicuously curious mind. - Melanie Boulet provided an extraordinary tour of the French Quarter. Others have noted her extensive knowledge of NOLA, Cajun, and “creole” history. Why does her deep knowledge make Melanie Boulet such a fantastic tour guide? First, she provided a rich context for NOLA history and culture that helps make sense of it, including connections to Canada and African countries, as well as the rest of the USA. Second, she weaves this information seamlessly into a coherent narrative arc that blends national ambitions with person al passions, natural history with riverboat pilot acumen and the fates of millions of enslaved Americans crossing the Middle Passage with the history unfolding before our eyes every day. If your time is valuable, Melanie Boulet is a bargain you cannot afford not to schedule. Her deep background enabled her to adjust the tour as needed to address the interests of her guests, but not lose sight of her larger story. It is among the most dramatic consequential stories on this continent.

A true NOLA gem - Melanie is a gem: her knowledge of GNO is both broad and deep and her presentation so engaging that it kept us wanting more even after two hours.
