Originally built in the 10th century by Hindu Rajput King Badal Singh, it was later reconstructed by the third Mughal King Akbar, who added numerous red sandstone palaces. Fatehpur Sikri, the city’s third world heritage site, was constructed by the third Mughal King Akbar from 1570 to 1582. Akbar moved the capital from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri, ruling for 15 years and building numerous palaces with Hindu and Muslim architectural influences. Fatehpur Sikri consists of two parts: the first includes beautiful palaces like Diwan-a-am, Diwan-a-khas, Jodha Bai Palace, and Panch Mahal. The second part features a stunning mosque, the tomb of Salim Chisti, and the impressive Gate. The tomb of Salim Chisti is a masterpiece of screenwork in white marble, attracting many devotees who tie threads to fulfill their wishes.
