Construction commenced in 1632, with the mausoleum being completed in 1643, followed by the surrounding structures and gardens five years later. The poignant narrative of Shah Jahan’s profound grief, depicted by the imperial court, remains the enduring inspiration behind the Taj Mahal.
• Agra Fort - Noon - Explore Agra Fort: Agra Fort, a monumental historical stronghold nestled in Agra, India, served as the primary abode for Mughal emperors until 1638, when the capital moved to Delhi. Before its capture by the British, the Marathas were the final Indian rulers to inhabit it. Following your visit to Agra Fort, head to a restaurant for lunch.
