• New Delhi - Guests will be collected from their hotel, the airport, or any location in Delhi at 5am and taken to the New Delhi railway station to board a super fast deluxe train to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal. The Shatabdi Express (Train No. 12002) departs at 6am from New Delhi railway station. Breakfast will be served on board during this 2-hour journey.
• Agra - Upon arrival at 8am at Agra Cantonment railway station, guests will be welcomed by their driver holding a placard with their name at the main exit gate. They will be transferred to a 5-star hotel, where they can freshen up and later meet their tour guide in the hotel lobby.
• Taj Mahal - The tour begins with a visit to the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered by many as the finest example of Mughal architecture and is widely acknowledged as “the jewel of Muslim art in India.” It stands as one of the world’s most celebrated structures and a symbol of India’s rich history.
• Agra Fort - The tour continues with a visit to Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. from red sandstone. The fort’s courtyards, mosques, and private chambers echo the story of the Mughal Empire.
• Carpet House Agra - Around 5pm, after returning to Agra, guests may enjoy shopping. Agra is renowned for its exquisite handicrafts. The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts, with Empress Nur Jahan taking a personal interest and being an accomplished artist in zari embroidery work. Agra’s major handicraft products include brassware, carpets, jewelry, embroidery, leather accessories, and clothing.
• Fatehpur Sikri - After lunch, guests will depart for Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located an hour away from Agra. It is described as “the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town.” Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was abandoned after only 14 years.
• Agra Cantt - At the conclusion of the tour at 8:30pm, guests will be transferred back to Agra Cantt railway station to catch their train back to Delhi, departing at 9:15pm. Dinner will be served on board.
• New Delhi Railway Station Gate 2 - At 11:30pm, upon arrival at New Delhi railway station, guests will be greeted by their driver, who will then transfer them back to their hotel in Delhi.
