Magnetic Island - Great trip to Maggie. We were there 40 years ago. Changed a lot now. The boat ride across was so smooth. It was at 20 minutes. So close.

Excellent Ferry Service. Fast & Efficient - Having recently spent 6 weeks on Magnetic Island, we found the SeaLink ferry services between Townsville and Magnetic Island to be nothing but excellent! The one negative would be that they don't have a convenient or very big area for luggage storage, and you can't have your bags with you at your seat. Not a huge issue but could be awkward for elderly or disabled travellers. Apart from that, the services are frequent and always on time. Staff are always very friendly, efficient and helpful, and the ferry is always clean. A great service!

Fast and efficient - The service was very efficient and they waited a couple of minutes for us to get on an earlier ferry than we had originally booked. All together we were very impressed.

Cheaper tickets. - Tickets are cheaper to buy at the port terminal than we paid online. $40 return at the boarding terminal but $43 online. Just arrive 15/20 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Need for seat reservation and priority for mobility disabled and older people - Booking the ferry online was easy, but I was disappointed that there was no seat reservation. This meant first in first served. We were told to be at the Ferry at least 20 minutes before boarding in case the Ferry was busy. As it was school holiday time, we panicked and ensured we were there at least 45 mins ahead of time. There was no need to do this on an early morning trip. On the return trip, the workman pushed into the line, which was disconcerting to me as I have a current mobility problem and use a walking stick. They were determined to be first in line and weren't concerned about anyone else. On the return trip, there was also a lot of luggage, and although passengers were asked to stay seated until the Ferry docked, those with large bags got up early and took over the exit. This was also a concern as I was sitting in a priority seat by the exit door and was frightened that I was going to be crushed by the luggage. I feel this needs better control especially to ensure older people and those with mobility concerns are not injured. Otherwise the Ferry was smooth and we enjoyed Magnetic Island.

Perhaps get some better staff on your parking gate - Arrived at Ferry Terminal to catch the Ferry to find the car park fully booked so there was no where to park. When I approached the lady at the gate she told us that they did not have a ferry that ran at the time we had booked and we must be at the other Ferry, so we went there to find out that we were indeed at the right ferry. at this time it was too late so we had to pay for two more ferry tickets on the barge.
