Situated in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, it houses the Buddha’s tooth relic. Historically, the relic has been significant in local politics, as it is believed that whoever possesses it holds the country’s governance. Kandy, the last capital of Sri Lankan kings, is a World Heritage Site primarily due to this temple.

With altitudes over 6,000 ft, cool climates, and moderate rainfall, the area is ideal for tea cultivation. The region produces a light liqueur from unusually small leaves, characteristic of its unique tea varieties.

Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls, a stunning 109-meter waterfall, is located in the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya at the Ramboda Pass. Known as Ramboda Ella or Puna Ella, the falls are formed by Puna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya, and create a twin with Dunsinane Falls, forming a Y shape at the base.
