DAY PLAN:

Upon arrival at Colombo CMB airport, you will be greeted by your tour leader and transferred to your hotel. The first stop is the coastal town of Negombo, renowned as Sri Lanka’s most popular beach, famous for its golden sands, cuisine, and entertainment. No activities are scheduled for the first day, so you can arrive in Sri Lanka at your convenience. If your flight lands early, unwind on the beach or by the pool at your comfortable hotel. In the evening, take a stroll along the seashore, enjoying the stunning sunset and the delightful beachside atmosphere.

DAMBULLA/CULTURAL VILLAGE TOUR

Sigiriya - Upon reaching Dambulla, embark on a delightful cultural village tour, exploring the picturesque countryside. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique local culture and lifestyle of the Sri Lankan people. The tour begins with a Tuk Tuk ride and a catamaran boat ride across the lake, leading to a farmer’s house where you will witness a Sri Lankan curry cooking demonstration and savor authentic countryside cuisine.

HOT AIR-BALLOON / POLONNARUWA / SIGIRIYA FORTRESS

Sigiriya - In the morning, if you wish, enjoy an incredible hot-air balloon tour over the beautiful Sigiriya area (Optional activity / Pre-booking required).

Polonnaruwa - Next, visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (UNESCO World Heritage Site). In 1070, King Vijayabahu established this as his kingdom, one of the oldest in Sri Lankan history. Cycling through Polonnaruwa’s historic sites is a remarkable experience.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - In the afternoon, visit Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site) as it’s the perfect time to capture the breathtaking sunset views from the summit. King Kasyapa (477 – 495 AD) constructed his palace atop this rock, adorning its sides with vibrant frescoes. It’s recognized as one of the wonders of the world due to its extraordinary architecture and technology.

GOLDEN CAVE TEMPLE / HISTORICAL KANDY

Dambulla Cave Temple - On the way to Kandy, visit the Royal Cave Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Dambulla boasts the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock rises 160 meters above the surrounding plains and houses five cave temples with some of the most unique and significant historical drawings.

Kandy - Upon arriving in Kandy, check into your cozy resort and relax by the pool amidst the natural surroundings.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Kandy viewpoint.

ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDEN / CULTURAL DANCE SHOW

Tiesh by Lakmini Jewelry - In the morning, visit the museum to learn more about the world-renowned and prestigious Sri Lankan gems and jewelry, crafted using traditional techniques.

Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya Kandy - Afterwards, visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden, one of Asia’s finest botanical gardens, attracting 2 million visitors annually. It is famous for its orchid collection and includes over 4000 plant species, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees, covering a total area of 147 acres.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - In the afternoon, explore Kandy’s city center on your own before attending a cultural dance show inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance, and cultural heritage.

NUWARA ELIYA TEA PLANTATIONS AND WATERFALLS

Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - On the way to Nuwara Eliya, drive through the cool, misty hills with lush green tea plantations, and stop at a tea factory to observe the rich tradition of Ceylon tea production. Conclude your factory visit with a perfectly blended cup of tea.

Nuwara Eliya - In the afternoon, enjoy a walk through Nuwara Eliya city center and the fruit and vegetable market.

SPECTACULAR TRAIN JOURNEY INTO THE MOUNTAINS

Nanu Oya - In the morning, embark on a spectacular train journey from Nanu-oya station to Ella village, known as one of the most scenic hill country train journeys in the world (Train ticket included, arranged at the station).

Nine Arches Bridge - Explore Ella, a favorite hill country village due to its wonderful nature-friendly setting. The Nine Arch Bridge, a major tourist attraction in Ella, is a massive structure built entirely of solid rocks, bricks, and cement without any steel.

Ravana Ella Falls - Afterwards, depart from Ella towards Yala National Park. En route, visit Rawana waterfall, one of Ella’s most popular attractions. It ranks as one of the widest falls in the country, measuring approximately 25 m (82 ft).

JEEP SAFARI / IT’S TIME FOR THE BEACH

Yala National Park - Early in the morning, when it’s still cool and breezy, visit Yala National Park.

Bentota Beach - Then, drive down to the south coast. After a fantastic journey through coconut palms, mountains, and waterfalls, arrive at Sri Lanka’s world-famous beachside.

Upon reaching your hotel, grab a towel to relax on the beach while enjoying a cocktail or a chilled beer under the shade of a palm tree.

BOAT TOUR / BEACH RELAX

Mirissa Beach - Early in the morning, return to the beautiful golden sandy beach and embark on an amazing boat ride on the sea. Afterwards, relax on the beach or by the pool at your cozy hotel. Optional activities include Jet Ski, Diving, Snorkeling, Surfing, Fishing, and Deep-sea fishing, among others.

Mirissa Beach - In the evening, enjoy the stunning sunset and the pleasant seaside atmosphere. You may also visit a seafront restaurant to try some authentic Sri Lankan seafood, with a delightful crab curry likely on the menu.

Matara - On the way to Galle, stop at Matara to witness and photograph the famous Sri Lankan stilt fishermen.

Galle Fort - Upon arriving in Galle, stroll through the streets, listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors, and observe how European architecture blends with South Asian traditions, attracting cultural enthusiasts worldwide.

Bandaranaike International Airport - Afterwards, proceed to the airport in time for your return flight, or we can drop you back at your hotel in Colombo or Negombo.
