A great tour made excellent by the guide. - We had an excellent tour of Mount Etna and Taormina with Discover Messina company. The skillful driver Giuseppe and excellent tour guide Carmelo made it a memorable tour. Carmelo kept us engaged throughout the ride about the geography, history and culture of eastern Sicily. He also added personal touches by talking about his family life.
We spent sufficient time on the Silvestri crater and soaked in the awesome nature of Mount Etna. Then we were off to Taormina - a magical place not far from Mount Etna. Carmelo gave us a good introduction and suggested some attractions and eataries. That allowed us to maximize our sight seeing experience.
All in all, it was a great 7 hour long sightseeing excursion, thanks to the tour guide and the driver.

Would recommend - Great tour. Seamless pick up and drop offs at Mount Etna and Taormina. Only drawback was that we would have liked to have more time in Taormina (we had about 1hr), but that is not the fault of the tour operator, it’s just the reality as it takes so long to get from point to point. Claudia, our tour guide, was great!

Mt Etna / Taormina tour - Our tour guide Claudia was awesome. There was plenty of time at Mount Etna- good recommendations regarding souvenirs and restaurants. Taormina was beautiful and again the time spent there was perfect for shopping and lunch.

Excellent sight-seeing tour of Mt Etna and Taormina - We enjoyed this tour to Mt Etna and Taormina. Our tour guide Serena was very good and provided us a good experience with the local knowledge of the places we visited. Also, she gave us some very good recommendations for lunch, Strit Food for Arancini and Da Roberto for Cannoli. We tasted the specialities at these 2 places and it was truly amazing.

Taormina and Etna tour - Our tour guide was Serena. It was our first time here and she did a great job explaining everything to us and answered all the questions we had. We highly recommend her as a tour guide.

A great taster for a longer return visit - Very well organised and enabled two major attractions to be seen on the schedule of a cruise ship visit. Serena was a cheerful, helpful guide and the bus driver patiently and skilfully managed the narrow hairpin roads.

Good tour but limited time at sites - Etna and Taormina Tour from Discover Messina Sicily was a good tour with Serena our tour guide. We did feel rushed and we didn't seem to have enough time in either location. Seemed to be a waste of time to stop at the business that sold honey. It would have been great to be able to take the cable car higher on the volcano. We only had a short period in Taormina and wanted to see the ancient amphitheater. Serena was great to take time to walk me to the Amphitheater and purchase the tickets for us so we didn't have to wait in the line. She didn't have to take the extra time to walk with us but did so. Make sure you realize that this tour spends more time traveling from Messina and back than at that sites but it was great to actually see both locations.

Tour duration tailored to cruise ships - Etna views were amazing. Taormina was beautiful, many shops and people.
I was the sole traveler not from the cruise ship. The tour duration is tailored to the cruise ship. Our tour was shortened to accommodate the ship’s early departure.
The tour hostess apologized stated that we would not have enough time to eat in a restaurant in Taormina, suggested steet food. If you take this cruise from Messina I would inquire about the duration.
