Best in the business - Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I can’t wait to go back and do it all over! Stella, the shop mini golden doodle, aka “The Boss” was the best part of my trip!

Wow! What a great experience! - Whether you are a bourbon snob, someone new to bourbon, or like most of us, something in between, Nashville Barrel Company will make your time with them feel special! Knowledgeable staff, great facility, fun environment and great bourbon (and other spirits) to sample all while guiding you thru the barrel selection process. All this makes NBC a must stop while in the Nashville area or a "destination" for those looking for a unique experience to share with friends.

First class experience, second to none - This is hands down the best whiskey experiences the general enthusiast crowd has access to. The guys who run this and their staff have expertise and passion for what they do, and it shows. They’ve curated some of the best barrels from major distilleries to select from, and has enough variety to find something that fits what you’re looking for. I’ve done this for my own private bottlings, for charities, and for whiskey groups. A corporate retreat may be next on the list to do. Each time I’m more impressed by their ability and attention to ensure for a truly amazing experience. Not sure if it’s the best people, or the best whiskey, but it makes for the best experience.

Nice experience but PAY ATTENTION. - The GOOD: When you first pull in, it is kind of bland and you may think this isn’t at all what you were expecting. But then you get inside and the tasting bar, thieve your own bottle area, and the tasting rooms are really nicely done and welcoming. The staff are awesome and extremely friendly. Huge selection of craft bourbons/ryes to sample which enables everyone in your group to find a favorite. The BAD: What I would consider a deceptive/bad business practice. The tip request at checkout. Be aware that after you doing your tasting/tour/bottle find and go to check out, the computer will ask you if you want to leave a gratuity and the screen pops up with 15%, 20%, or 25%. You would think that you most certainly want to tip because the people are awesome and the tip would be on the services (tour, tasting, etc.) but it is for the whole purchase. We purchased over $600 in bourbon (the 10 y/r is $179/$199) by itself and left a gratuity to find out later that we left almost a $140 gratuity because the gratuity was on the entire purchase. No paper receipts either so we didn’t find out until we looked in our email. Who on earth would leave a tip for goods? We already paid on average $200 bottle and then add an extra $100 or so? Insane business practice. The tours are also expensive for what you get compared to other distilleries. The bottle your own was a great experience though. So the tale of the day is to pay attention to what you are doing and don’t let any conversations or interactions distract you. It is a shame because overall we had a very nice albeit quite expensive experience.
