Additional Information

Take pleasure in this autonomous audio journey during your ride to Point Reyes Lighthouse!

This is the tale of the stunning Point Reyes National Seashore and its unique connection with dairy and beef farms. “Cattle in a park?” you may ponder? Indeed, they were here prior to the establishment of the park and play an essential role in modern-day Point Reyes. The journey leads you from the headquarters of Point Reyes National Seashore to the lighthouse, passing through picturesque nature scenes and pastoral settings.

Kindly pay attention to the following:
If your plan is to explore the actual lighthouse at the conclusion of the drive, it’s worth noting that it is closed on particular days. Moreover, due to its high demand during the winter season, the route to the lighthouse might be rerouted to Drake’s Beach on weekends where a shuttle is available to take you to the lighthouse. Regardless, this journey will guide you to your destination. Confirm the lighthouse’s operating hours with the park rangers or on the internet.

It’s a beautiful drive, but this made it so much more enjoyable. - Enjoyed the drive, learning so much about the area that we never would have known otherwise. We highly recommend this to anyone making this drive. It really adds to the enjoyment to understand the history of the land you are passing through.

Great way to visit Point Reyes and not just for tourists - As a Bay Area resident, I have visited Point Reyes many times because of its natural beauty, What I knew little about was the history of farming and ranching there, and why they are still so important to this unique and precious spot. The tour guides were clear and engaging, and the history didn't feel like homework (in other words, this would be great for school-age kids). The voices of ranchers telling how people lived in the old days brought the landscape to life. If you're a foodie, don't miss the description of "Shafter Butter."

Living History Museum on Wheels! - I love knowing the history of a place when I'm touring. This well designed audio tour provided us with a "living history museum" experience. We heard interesting stories from a variety of voices and drove away with a much richer experience of the area than we would have otherwise.

Cows in the park! - Cool. Who knew? Cows in the park! Wonderful to hear first hand stories about this incredible place. Having a personal tour guide on my phone, made everything come alive.

A fascinating journey - This was a wonderful experience. I found the stories compelling and learned a lot about California history and culture. The scenery was spectacular and I found that I observed much more because of the audio tour.

Take this tour!!! - This was so interesting. The stories about ranching life were great, and I was happy to understand why there are all these cows in a National Park!!

Good - It was ok. The long quiet periods between checkpoints were kind of a bummer. The technology worked!

Could not make it work - We were never able to get the app to work. Very disappointing. I called the phone number and they weren't able to help either. I'm calling to get my money back
