- Jeevanjee Gardens - Originally private property donated to the public by Abdulahi, Jeevanjee Gardens was established by A.M. Jeevanjee, an entrepreneur of Asian descent in Kenya. It is the only park in the city directly owned by the people, having been gifted to the residents of Nairobi as a place of rest. The park, once private property, is now held in trust for the people of Nairobi.
- City Market - This historic building, constructed in 1930 near the railway line that once ran along what is now Loita Street, served as Nairobi’s main retail outlet for cultural souvenirs, fruits, and vegetables before the railway was relocated in the 1940s.
- Jamia Mosque - Founded by Syed Maulana Abdullah Shah in 1902 in Nairobi’s Central Business District, Jamia Mosque is a significant center for Islamic practice in East and Central Africa. Built between 1925 and 1933, it became the focal point for Muslim religious organization during both the pre-independence and post-independence periods.
- Nairobi Gallery - Erected in 1913, the Nairobi Gallery was once a civil service building, affectionately known as ‘Hatches, Matches, and Dispatches’ due to the births, marriages, and deaths recorded there. Today, it functions as a museum and national monument. It is also the point ZERO of Kenya, from which all distances were measured. The site also features the resting place of The Right Honourable Mzee Jomo Kenyatta CGH.
- Kenyatta International Conference Center - This building offers a 360-degree view of Nairobi from its unique rooftop tower. Commissioned by Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya, in 1967, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, or “KICC,” was one of the first buildings constructed after independence. It features a grand statue of Kenya’s first President and serves as a venue for showcasing products and services to the international community, offering a rich history and cultural experience.

Fulfilling tour! - Great walking tour of downtown & uptown Nairobi. Our guide, Michael, was very informative, funny, and navigated the busy streets and traffic really well, making the experience feel safe and enjoyable. He stopped at the city market where we could look around and shop, which was a nice local touch. We saw the local meat and fish markets, historical landmarks, the library, view from the top of the KICC, etc. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. Took about 3 hours, as he was very patient and willing to stop and answer any of our questions.

Amazing Nairobi City Tour!! - Michael gave us a fantastic tour of Nairobi. He’s very knowledgeable and shared fascinating historical and local insights that brought the city to life. Walking through the CBD felt truly immersive, and one of the biggest highlights was visiting the KICC for breathtaking views of the city. If you want to experience the real Nairobi beyond your hotel, this tour is a must. Highly recommended!

Great Tour - I had a great three-hour walking tour of Nairobi. My guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable about the history of Nairobi, the Kenyan people, and their culture. From the busyness of the city market to the booming sounds of party buses, and finally the wonderful view from the top of the KICC, everything was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Making Memories - We had a great time walking the city with Michael. He explained the history of Nairobi to I'd and the different historical buildings. We were taken through the market for souvenirs and then to the KICC rooftop for an absolutely wonderful view of the city and surrounding areas. Michael and his brother were very patient as we were in the wrong spot to start haha. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local history. I would recommend the morning tour though if you are uncomfortable with heat.

Take THIS walking tour! - Michael was an amazing guide! We hit many interesting places in Nairobi and he provided very interesting historical information. He also helped greatly with my purchases at the local market, which is priceless. Highly recommend Michael for the walking tour!

Great exposure to the heart of Nairobi - Great experience to walk through the heart of Nairobi with an experienced guide. Michael did a great job showing us several key sites and sharing historical context. Ending at the top of the KICC tower was a great way to put the sights into context, and appreciate the beautiful setting of this vibrant city.

Walking Tour experience - Michael was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the town. He showed us around and then took us to a building with an incredible aerial view of the city. And, most importantly, he helped us cross roads safely. Lots of walking obviously.
