Maasai Mara National Reserve - The following day is dedicated to game viewing in Kenya’s premier wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives will be conducted in search of Africa’s Big Five and the abundance of other wildlife inhabiting this expansive Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers stunning orange-tinged sunsets that are perfect for photography.
The Mara reserve is characterized by open savannah, teeming with incredible wildlife. Throughout the vast Masai Mara, visitors will frequently encounter wildlife such as Masai giraffe, spotted hyena, hartebeests, wildebeest, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos in large numbers. Lions are often seen either resting after a meal or scanning the plains for their next prey. Cheetahs and leopards are more elusive but are still relatively common.
(Optional) Hot-air balloon trips offer a unique way to view the savannah plains filled with wildlife. These balloon trips can be arranged at an additional cost.
