Superb service from the Tempest Carrental team at George Airport in S Africa - We are regular 'swallows', coming every European winter for about 3 months to S. Africa's summer. This time we flew into George and picked up our 10-week car rental at Tempest (they work with Europcar in SA). They gave us an upgrade, which for the longer period we were staying was most welcome. We have had no issues with them. Device was excellent, follow-ups every month and their efficient administration ensured that we got all our deposits back in a timely way.

Great service! - I had an excellent experience with this car hire service in Nairobi over the last month. In late December, we were in Nairobi for a few days prior to heading out to join a safari that began in Arusha, Tanzania. Our driver, David, provided professional assistance during our journey from Nairobi to Arusha, Kenya, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey between Kenya and Tanzania. He was very familiar with the process and very helpful with the border & immigration process. I hired a driver on January 5, 2024, for a 12-hour wait before our flight home. Jidraf, our driver that day, accommodated our specific requests and facilitated a solution to a hiccough we had in our plans. He shared fascinating insights into history, economics, culture, and animals, making the day very enjoyable and informative. I highly recommend this service for its reliability and knowledgeable drivers!

Great way to get around - We had a day in Nairobi before we headed out on a safari. We wanted to get transportation to and from a number of different locations (Giraffe Center, shops, etc) to visit and we figured this was going to be a better way to do it than to get taxis or Ubers all over. We had booked the reservation and had requested an 8 AM pick up but the default Tripadvisor timeframe is 6 AM, so our driver arrived at six just to be sure that we were taking care of. Gabreil, our driver was extremely knowledgeable about the area, drove as safely as possible in this area (if you haven’t been here, you’ll find out what I mean when you get here), I was extremely gracious throughout the entire trip. If you are thinking of driving on your own, and you have never driven here, I would HIGHLY recommend you do not do that. I have driven in foreign countries and this place is crazy. I would highly recommend having them drive you around town as opposed to trying to do it yourself or using taxis and Ubers. Overall, great experience.

Safe, comfortable ride Nairobi to Arusha - Several months prior to our trip to Africa I found East Africa Shuttles online and corresponded with Chris. I booked and paid in advance for a private car and driver to take us from Nairobi to Arusha. This turned out to be a very good decision and certainly cheaper than flying. We had an excellent ride to Arusha with our driver David, who arrived at our Nairobi hotel promptly, actually a bit early even. He drove with great care, and calmly negotiated the Nairobi traffic chaos for the first hour. Once on the open road he drove very smoothly and we enjoyed seeing southern Kenya with no anxiety at all. It’s a long drive, about five hours, but in complete comfort. David was good company and we learned a lot about Tanzania and Kenya from him. The border crossing went very smoothly and we stopped for lunch at Namanga, as arranged, and arrived safely at our hotel in Arusha. We can certainly recommend David, and East Africa Shuttles for a safe transfer.

Great day out. - Jid was a great driver and guide for the day. Gave me some great advice and lots of info and history on Kenya and Nairobi. Emma in the office was good with communication and even made the reservation at Carnivore for me. I saw everything I wanted and more.

Best first day in Nairobi - This was our first day in Nairobi after 20 hours of travel the day before. Jidraf contacted me and was waiting at the time he suggested to be on time for the elephant orphanage. He guided us through the lines. I asked him to find a traditional restaurant for lunch and we invited him to join us. He suggested some great Kenyan dishes. Best of all he went with us to a market and was our bargaining tutor! Jidraf was our Kenyan encyclopedia for the whole day. Viator with a driver is the only way to see Nairobi! It’s also a great value.
