The magic of Amboseli lies in its ability to offer unparalleled wildlife viewing experiences. With guaranteed sightings of elephants as well as diverse array of other wildlife, it truly is a haven for enthusiasts. Given its compact size, one can cover almost everything it has to offer within 2 days. Additionally, Amboseli provides majestic views of the tallest independent mountain in the world and Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro!
Positioned at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park owes its life to this majestic mountain, with its melting snow supplying water to underground springs which in turn nourish the swamps and wetlands scattered across the plains. These resources act as a magnet for an array of wildlife, from the awe-inspiring elephants to elands, waterbucks, Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, Coke’s hartebeests and zebras.
The plentiful availability of large prey in the park makes it a hunting ground for predators like lions, leopards, civets, and wildcats, not to mention a range of scavengers such as jackals and hyenas.
