- Okage Yokocho - The guide will lead a tour of Okage Yokocho, followed by a lunch break and free time for souvenir shopping. This street features numerous renowned restaurants serving local dishes, craft beer, and Instagram-worthy desserts. The Ise Udon or fried oysters come highly recommended. Feel free to ask the guide for lunch suggestions or let your senses guide you!
- Mikimoto Pearl Island - The guide will take visitors through the island, explaining how pearls are formed, harvested, and transformed into jewelry, beauty products, and more. Visitors will also learn how to distinguish between real and fake pearls.
While exploring the island, visitors will discover how Ama sea divers have been harvesting oysters and practicing sustainable fishing in the region long before Mikimoto cultured his first pearl. Today, Mikimoto employs these divers to harvest pearls, valuing their skills and expertise, as well as preserving this tradition.
Visitors will have the unique chance to watch these divers in action during a live demonstration. Please note that the Ama demonstration may be canceled due to weather conditions.
After witnessing the Ama dive for oysters, the journey will continue along the coast to one of Ise’s most iconic shrines.
- Meotoiwa Rocks - The final stop of the tour is Meoto Iwa and Futami-Okitama Shrine. These wedded rocks are another significant Shinto site and a fantastic spot for photos. With some luck, the silhouette of Mt. Fuji might be visible in the distance. The guide will provide a brief tour of Meoto Iwa and assist in translating fortunes. Rest assured, there will be ample time for taking pictures.
