Insight, culture and great vibes - This tour surpassed our expectations without any doubt! Jamal was such an amazing guide, he made this trip feel more like being introduced to the culture by a new friend rather than just a guide and it was unbelievable to visit such stunning places without having to drive for endless hours. My partner and I were picked 5 minutes away from our riad in a small van, clean and roomy for the group which compromised 6 people in total, this was perfect for us as we do not enjoy massive groups. Jamal gave us a lovely breakdown of our day and provided explanations along the way, with some jokes too, he was very casual and easy to talk to, very friendly guy. Our first stop was to oversee the oldest Berber village, we then headed to a female cooperative for argan oil where we had breakfast and tea and lovely demonstrations of all the products. The place was nice in the sense no one pushed us to buy or tip. We then headed to Imlil at the foot of the Atlas mountains and had a long hike up the mountains, going through some of the villages, which was quite fun and very energetic. The views were stunning as it had snowed two days ago; eventually we arrived at a beautiful terrace for lunch where we had a massive feast of tagine, cous cous and fruits. We then drove for a while for a long camel ride and headed back to the city. The only bit of the itinerary we couldn’t do was the visit to the waterfalls as the ice was really dangerous over there. Overall it was an amazing experience and we were so happy how it all turned out, the views were out of this world, it was quite an adventurous trip with the hike and the visit to the village gave us an inner look to the rural life that we wouldn’t have gotten anywhere. Big shoutout to Jamal again, it’s nice to have a guide that is so natural and does not overload with information or overpowers the conversations. If my boyfriend could, he’d love to write his own review because he was so happy with the trip but we both agree Jamal made the difference.
