Additional Information
PADI eLearning provides you one-year access to the course content and an endless access to the online version of the course manual, eliminating the requirement for a physical classroom. It can be completed at your leisure, whether you’re on holiday or even before you leave your hometown. Alternatively, you can begin it a day prior to your course.

PADI eLearning provides you one-year access to the course content and an endless access to the online version of the course manual, eliminating the requirement for a physical classroom. It can be completed at your leisure, whether you’re on holiday or even before you leave your hometown. Alternatively, you can begin it a day prior to your course.
Upon completion of your eLearning, you will undertake 2 mornings of confined water training. Following your morning training, your afternoon will be spent performing your open water dives. Across these two days, you’ll have the opportunity to explore some of the top diving spots in the world, including MUSA. MUSA, or Underwater Museum of Art, located in the waters near Cancun and Isla Mujeres, is home to over 500 full-sized sculptures designed to encourage coral growth. In just three days, you could have completed your PADI Open Water Diver Course and be ready for your underwater adventures.

All tours meet in the Pocna Dive Center Office inside the Selina Hostel.
Please remember to bring sun protection and apply your reef-safe sunscreen before boarding the boat.
Once on the boat, sunscreen application is no longer allowed in order to protect the delicate ecosystem of the national park.

If you want an unforgettable experience... Here it is!! - I did my Open water certification at this center and could not have chosen a better place! From the beginning the communication to book the course was very easy, I did the online learning before I arrived and when I arrived we jumped right into the water. Ruben is an exceptional instructor, super patient, very clear, at all times made me feel very confident and gave me the confidence to ask the necessary questions or even ask to repeat some exercises in which I felt I needed to reinforce a little more. Then in the dives besides always taking care of the security.. made us have a lot of fun! I think Ruben is an excellent instructor and also has an incredible Capacity (in covers) to make you feel the passion and love for the sea! The rest of the team also amazing, Guille, El Capi, el valedor, Denni, Vanessa... Everyone makes it an unforgettable experience and you’re just thinking about when to come back. With all my heart, thank you very much to the whole team of Pocna!!!

Fantastic ecperience and highly recommendation - I had an absolutely fantastic experience with this dive center. From the very beginning, booking my course was quick and uncomplicated and the communication was always smooth and friendly.
A very special thanks goes to Ruben, who truly made all the difference in my diving journey. He took so much time for me, patiently guiding me through every step. I needed a bit longer with some parts of the training, but Ruben was always kind, encouraging and determined to find a solution that worked for me. He explained everything clearly and showed me more than once when needed. Thanks to his supportive approach, I was able to overcome my initial fears and gain real confidence underwater. In the end, I successfully completed my Scuba Diver certification and was able to fully enjoy the dives, even after some challenges. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor or a more positive experience.
I highly recommend this dive school to anyone, especially if you’re looking for a professional, patient, and genuinely caring team that will make you feel safe and excited to dive! 🌊🤿

Exceptional Instructor & Unforgettable Experience! - There are experiences and people that will forever remain engraved in my memory from this one-year journey through the Americas. Getting my PADI Open Water certification in Isla Mujeres with Pocna Center is definitely one of them.
Our instructor, Ruben , was simply outstanding. With endless patience for my slow learning pace and countless mistakes, he managed to guide me, encourage me, and push me to never give up. Absorbing so much information in just two days felt impossible for me , but Ruben never gave up and rose to the challenge.
He shared his passion with incredible energy while making us fully aware of the potential dangers of diving. Zero tolerance when it came to not understanding survival skills—which is exactly what makes beginners feel safe and gain the serenity needed to truly enjoy diving.
If I managed to pass, then anyone can! Honestly, I think I was Ruben’s worst nightmare as a student. Saint Ruben—thank you from the bottom of my heart (and sorry!!)
Also, Ruben is fantastic with teenagers and kids: my 15-year-old daughter understood everything immediately thanks to his top-notch teaching skills.
The whole team is lovely, the equipment excellent, and the dive sites absolutely exceptional.
On every future dive, we’ll think of Ruben and try to honor the impeccable quality of his teaching!

An amazing first experience - Our experience was amazing for beginners. Underwater life was captivating and especially our instructor Rubén was very patient and professional with us. He is passionate about diving and has passed on this passion to us! He also put us in confidence from the beginning and it is thanks to this that our certification went well. We could not have asked for better. I recommend 100%

Great experience in getting my Open Water Scuba Certification. My instructor Rubun was awesome and knew his stuff! - Had an amazing time getting my OW Scuba Certification with Pocna Dive Center. It was easy to find and the team there treated me very well. My dive instructor was Rubun and he was awesome. He really took the time to ensure I understood what he was teaching and exercised great patience in walking me through the scuba experience. He made the overall experience memorable and I would definitely dive with this team again!

PADI Open Water - We did our open water course with Ruben. He was the most amazing teacher! He has a great way of teaching, the three of us all got equal attention and I felt really safe throughout. One of the things I wish I did in my thirties but happy to do now - I just completed the PADI certification course at Pocna Diving Center and highly recommend it. My instructor Bruno was the best. Patient and kind with a direct kick in the butt when needed.

Incredible experience and PADI certified! - Javi was an outstanding instructor and provided me with all the tools and knowledge I needed to complete my certification. When there were challenges, he was extremely supportive and helped with great advice and calm to work through and provide the necessary support.
The experience overall was amazing and I had no idea what I was missing having never tried diving.
Worth every penny, and I hope to come back and visit mt certification shop again I'm the future!

Super efficient, friendly and professional dive experience - Loved our three days diving with the team at Ponca- my 15 year old did his PADI underwater scuba license over two days and I was able to join him for the reef dives and a trip to the sleeping shark cave once licensed. The setup within Selina backpackers was great- pool for the first training made everything super efficient and manageable- I worked from the Selina coworking space whilst Fred did his license with him. Great views- great coffee nearby and a super friendly team with lots of local knowledge to share. There are great vibes in this joyful place. Fred was my sons guide and he was super enthusiastic and encouraging and English was no problem. A great experience with some super experienced operators who really love their place and their jobs and it shows in everything they do. 10/10!
Can’t wait to be back for more sharks, rays and during whale shark season some time in the future.
