Day 01: Dehradun to Barkot (200 km, 6-7 hours)

Barkot is a charming town located in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi District within the Himalayan Range. This serene hill station is perched at an elevation of 1,220 meters above sea level and is just 50 km from Yamunotri. Barkot is renowned for its sports and adventure activities, including hiking, river rafting, and trekking.
Day 02: Barkot to Yamunotri and back to Barkot (36 km drive & 6 km trek each way)
Yamunotri Temple - Start the day early with breakfast, then drive to Janki Chatti. From there, choose to travel by horse, palki, or trek to the temple. Upon arrival, bathe in Jamunabai Kund and enjoy a darshan of Yamuna Mata before returning to Barkot for an overnight stay.
Yamunotri:
The Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and features a black marble idol of the deity. Located in the western Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,291 meters (10,797 ft), the temple was constructed in 1839 by Sudarshan Shah, the king of Tehri Garhwal. Surya Kund is a notable spot where visitors can boil potatoes and rice to eat as prasad.
Day 03: Barkot to Uttarkashi (100 km, 4 hours)
Day 04: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back to Uttarkashi (100 km, 4 hours each way)
Day 05: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (220 km, 8-9 hours)
Guptkashi - After breakfast, transfer to Guptkashi. Along the way, enjoy views of Moolgarh and Lambagaon. Check into the hotel in Guptkashi for an overnight stay.
Guptkashi:
Vishwanath Temple is one of the oldest temples in Guptkashi. Adjacent to it is the Mahikarnika Kund, where the Yamuna and Ganga streams converge. Other significant temples to visit include Kalimath and Trijuginarayan Temple.
Day 06: Guptkashi to Kedarnath (36 km by road, 19 km trek each way)
Day 07: Kedarnath to Guptkashi (19 km trek, 36 km by road)
Guptkashi - Begin the day with a morning darshan at the temple. After breakfast, trek down to Gaurikund and take a cab back to the hotel in Guptkashi for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Guptkashi to Badrinath (195 km, 8 hours)
Day 09: Badrinath to Joshimath to Rudraprayag (155 km, 6 hours)
Day 10: Rudraprayag to Haridwar (160 km, 6 hours)
Devprayag - After breakfast, head to Haridwar. En route, visit Dhari Devi Temple, Devprayag, and Rishikesh before being dropped off at Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport.

The Char Dham Yatra begins each year and lasts for six months, starting in April and May and continuing until October and November. The dates for the commencement of the Char Dham Yatra are announced by the Kedar-Badri Mandir Samiti before Akshaya Tritiya.
