Amazing sunset in the desert - We had a full-day tour to Wahiba Sand Desert to see the dunes and the sunset. Our guide Amer picked us up from the hotel and he was the star of our tour. He told us about the omani history and culture. He was very knowledgeable, kind and masterful driver in the intense Oman traffic. The Wahiba Sands desert was simply an amazing experience. Amer took us to a private spot where we had superb views at the western horizon as the sun set in the rose-gold desert. After the sunset we had a dinner together. We skipped the camel ride (and should have skipped the visit to ”bedouin village” which was as authentic as the snow at the Mall of Oman). However, our reaction was well-read by Amer who swiftly took us to enjoy the desert views and sunset. Our recommendation is to go directly to the desert - and skip the camel ride and the bedouin village - and enjoy the desert for as long as possible. Excellent Desert Sunset Tour - Did this tour with Muneer. As a tip, make sure you have WhatsApp so you can communicate easily with your tour guide. The tour pick up time was 11:30am. Muneer arrived early at our hotel to pick us up but since I didn’t have WhatsApp I didn’t see his initial message. He took us to the first destination, Wadi Bani Khalid. He was very flexible in accommodating eating times and bathroom breaks and didn’t rush us. We opted not to swim in the wadi since we did water activities the past 2 days so we spent less time there and more time eating lunch since we were hungry. We arrived at Wahiba Sands around 4:30pm and we had dates and Arabic coffee in a Bedouin house. We also did a short camel ride (bring cash). The highlight of the tour was exploring the nearby sand dunes. Even though we rented a 4WD and had the right car to go into the desert, having a tour guide or local here was invaluable, as he brought us to a place to take great pictures at sunset, and you can easily get stuck in a the sand dunes if you don’t know where to drive. Muneer explained a lot about the culture and location and took great pictures of us. It was such a surreal experience and the desert was so otherworldly looking. We finished at after the sunset and Muneer brought us back to our hotel; we arrived around 8:45pm. I highly recommend this tour.

Very nice trip with the perfect sunset on the camel back! - Very nice day tour with a good english speaking guide! Got to talk about everything and had good knowledge about the main events in the trip. Had no hurry and formed the trip for us as we liked. The sunset camel riding was a experience that we will remember for a long time! Perfect weather and beutiful sunset. Would highly recommend!

Watching the beautiful sunset and camel ride experience - We had booked a private full day tour with star tours Oman to watch the beautiful sunset and the camel ride on the top of the golden sand dunes. Our guide arrived on time with some refreshment and he offer to us. We started to move from our hotel around 11am and we drive to Wahiba but on the way we had short stop to had a photo stop from the Fanja where you can see a lot of palm trees from the down. We continue our drive to the amazing Wadi bani khalid we walk around 15 minutes with so many photo stop around the area and then we had a relaxing day we swam and we visited the cave there. Super fun and enjoyable. Then finally we had reach the Wahiba sands desert and we stay more time there to experience the beautiful sunset. I hope that we can come back again next time and to book for overnight for sure it will be more memorable and unforgettable to experience the stargazing and the sunrise. It was an experience that we won't forget and we thank you for making it so special. I strongly recommend.
