Muscat-Bimmah Sinkhole-Fins Beach-Sur-Ras Al Hadd
Bimmah Sinkhole - The tour begins in Muscat in the morning, heading towards Ras Al Hadd. The first stop is Bimmah Sinkhole, where swimming in the sinkhole lake is an option. Bimmah Sinkhole is a water-filled depression, technically a sinkhole, located in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in Oman. It features a lake with turquoise waters, measuring 50 m by 70 m wide and approximately 20 m deep. Situated just 600 m from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village, the sinkhole was created by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of the underlying limestone. To protect the sinkhole, the local municipality has developed a park around it.
Fins - After Bimmah Sinkhole, the tour stops at Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach. This location offers a stunning view of strikingly white sands and a fascinating pebbly beach, with sparkling turquoise waters and a gentle, cool breeze.
Wadi Shab - The journey then continues to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge lined with palm trees, showcasing the impressive power of water flowing down from the mountains. A 45-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes are recommended) leads to crystal-clear water pools. Visitors can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching the final pool where an opening among the massive rocks allows swimming into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall inside. Sunlight filters in from outside, turning the water a beautiful turquoise blue as water cascades down one side of the cave from the Wadi beyond.
Sur - The tour proceeds to the City of Sur, home to the famous Arabian Dhow Factory, where traditional wooden Dhows are constructed. In the old part of Sur, visitors can see houses designed with wooden doors and windows.
Al Hadd - From Sur, the tour travels to Ras Al Hadd, where guests check in at the hotel/resort. In the evening, after a buffet dinner, a guided walking tour at the Turtle Sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz is offered. This beautiful night tour on the beach under the stars provides a high chance of witnessing Oman’s great sea turtles coming ashore to build nests and lay eggs. With luck, baby turtles hatching from nests may also be seen.
Overnight at Turtle Beach Resort or a similar accommodation.
Ras Al Hadd-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sands-Ibra-Muscat
Wadi Bani Khalid - The day begins with a drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most beautiful wadis in Oman. After arriving, a short 10-minute walk (walking shoes are recommended) leads to sparkling, blue, clear water pools 9 meters deep, perfect for a long swim, relaxation, and sunbathing in the scenic wadi canyon.
Wahiba Sands - In the afternoon, the journey continues to the desert region of Wahiba Sands, also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. This spectacular desert covers an area of 12,500 square kilometers and is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe. It spans 180 km north to south and 80 km east to west. Enjoy the golden sands and experience dune bashing with an experienced guide.
Ibra - From Wahiba Sands, the tour proceeds to Ibra, where the old part of the town, approximately 1000 years old, can be explored. Built from mud and limestone, the village is not completely abandoned, with some residents still living there. The tour concludes with a drive back to Muscat.
