Muscat-Sinkhole-Fins Beach-Wadi Shab-Sur-Ras Al Hadd
Bimmah Sinkhole - The tour begins in Muscat in the morning, heading towards Ras Al Hadd. The first stop is the Bimmah Sinkhole, where swimming in the sinkhole lake is an option. This water-filled depression, a sinkhole in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in Oman, features a lake with turquoise waters. It measures 50 m by 70 m wide and is approximately 20 m deep. Located 600 m from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village, the sinkhole was formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of the underlying limestone. To preserve it, the local municipality developed a park around it.
Fins Beach - From the sinkhole, the tour proceeds to Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach. This location offers a panorama of strikingly white sands and a pebbly beach, with sparkling turquoise waters and a gentle, cool breeze.
Wadi Shab - After Fins Beach, the journey continues to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge lined with palm trees. It showcases the power of water descending from the mountains. A 35 to 40-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes required) leads to crystal-clear water pools. Visitors can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching the last pool, where an opening among the rocks allows swimming into a stunning crevice cave with a small waterfall inside. Sunlight filters in, turning the water a beautiful turquoise blue, while water cascades down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.
Sur - From Wadi Shab, the tour continues to Sur for a brief city tour. Visitors will see the Dhow Factory and old ships, and explore the old part of Sur, where many houses feature wooden doors and windows.
Al Hadd - The tour proceeds to Ras Al Hadd for hotel/resort check-in. In the evening, after dinner, guests visit the Turtle Sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz. A guided night walk on the beach under the stars offers a high chance of witnessing Omani sea turtles nesting and laying eggs. With luck, baby turtles hatching from nests may also be seen.

Wahiba Sands - In the afternoon, the journey continues to the desert camp in Wahiba Sands, a spectacular desert covering 12,500 square kilometers, also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. Formerly “The Wahiba Sands,” this desert region is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe and spans 180 km north to south and 80 km east to west. Guests can relax at the camp or enjoy an adventurous 4×4 drive in the sand dunes, followed by watching the stunning desert sunset from a large sand dune. The Friday cattle market is particularly interesting, with locals from nearby villages selling cattle and chickens in a circus-style open marketplace.
Nizwa Fort Oman - Adjacent to the souk is Nizwa Fortress, now a museum offering splendid views of the ancient town and surrounding mountains. Visitors can explore the impressive fortress, its many rooms, passages, and towers. The fort is an architectural testament to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century, designed to withstand strong attacks. Even along the corridors, traps were laid to deter intruders.
Jabal Akhdar - From Nizwa, the tour drives to Jebel Akhdar, known as the “Green Mountain,” one of the most scenic areas in Oman.
