Start your day with a visit to the majestic Grand Mosque of Sultan Quaboos, where you can marvel at the 12m long chandelier and get a feel for Oman’s religious nature (Open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, excluding Fridays). Subsequently, immerse yourself in the vibrant setting of Muttrah’s conventional market flooded with an array of exotic fish, fresh fruits, and colorful vegetables. Blend with the locals, and remember bargaining is part of the experience. Just a short distance away is the renowned Muttrah Souq, a treasure trove of Omani handicrafts. Bask in the eastern aura and scent of Oman’s ‘Fragrances’.
Following this, we cruise along the picturesque Corniche heading to Old Muscat for a noteworthy photo-stop at the Sultan’s Palace, nestled between the Portuguese fortresses of Jalali and Mirani. Our visit to Bait Al Zubair Museum provides an incredible opportunity to gain insights into Omani culture and its historic past.

Excellent guide - I cannot express how much I enjoyed the tour, primarily due to samr’s guidance and thorough knowledge of the major sites . Samr not only provided excellent historical narrative of the sites we visited, but also listened to my wishes and concerns and adapted the program as needed. You cannot go wrong with choosing to tour with Samr.

Great experience! - We booked a Muscat city tour and Khalid was our guide. We were very pleased as not only his knowledge about the city is great but he also is very kind and helpful to navigate the more traditional areas. We visited the Sultan Mosque, the Royal Opera House, the Souk and the Sultan Palace. Khalid was very patient and organised and made our experience very pleasant. He helped us communicate with the locals and explore the Souk, while explaining local customs throughout the tour. Would recommend if you’re in the city! Thank you Khalid

Weekend fun in Oman - Day 2 and last day of our trip. Still our tour guide from day 1, we decided to take one last look around Oman and explore more. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is very solemn and picturesque. Although its only half day, its still worthwhile. Thank you once again to Mohammed for accommodating us on our journey.

Fantastic, 1/2 day city tour - lots of variety. - Our guide was Mohammed AlShamli and he was perfect for this short city tour. Knowledgeable but but not intrusive. This tour had lots of variety and was excellent value. We saw the Grand Mosque, markets, souk, Royal Palace and forts and we chose the National Museum to finish. Perfect for a 1/2 day.
