This location features both old and new villages nestled in lush green date and banana plantations. Birkat Al Mouz is renowned for housing one of Oman’s most famous and longest falaj systems, the “Falaj Daris,” which extends all the way to Nizwa.
The tour continues to the Saiq Plateau, known as the “roof of Oman,” which was accessible only by donkeys for centuries. The terraced gardens here are fascinating, with a variety of fruits such as pomegranates, apricots, and lemons being cultivated. The area also boasts rose gardens that bloom in April. Visitors can enjoy interesting walks in Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejaya, Al Ain, and Aqur. A picnic lunch will be provided before returning to Muscat at approximately 4:30 PM.
