Highlights

At 08:30 am you will be picked up from your hotel or residence in Muscat city. Board your 4x4 and head towards Fanjah, where you stop at the roadside to take photos of an abandoned village. You then make a turn near Bidbid which continues on the route to Ibra. Visit the ruins of an abandoned village at Al Mansfah near Ibra. Much of the charm and character of this old mercantile village has not been washed away still.

You will then head towards the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid, known as the lost Shangri-La. Reach the magnificent Wadi, the pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning, surrounded by palm trees and vast, orangey-red rocky outcrops with silky water. After spending some time there, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Bidiya.

After lunch, proceed to the undulating golden sands of the Wahiba Desert. The great Wahiba sands are longitudinal dunes 200km long and 100km wide running south from the Eastern Hajars to the Arabian Sea. This is the traditional home of the Bedouin, hardy spirited people who know how to survive in these harsh desert conditions. Indulge in some thrilling dune bashing before returning to Muscat in evening at approximately 16:30.

Wow, what a day....... - An incredible experience, truely memorable with plenty of time to swim in the natural river. The dune bashing just as adventurous and had time to look at the camels.

Worth the ride ! - That was a perfect day with my guide Hossein. Smooth driving to the Wahiba Sands, while enjoying karak on the way. Then having fun with on the dunes with a 4WD or riding a camel. Going ahead to the Wadi Bani Khalid and praying to be lucky for being there on a day with no other turists at all (I am blessed)!

Value for money - Great experience, perfect organisation, very punctual start (arrival of the guide 15 min. before departure time), very private and personal tour, our guide (Tarek) was great. We can strongly recommend Mark Tours!

Mark Tours - the best in Oman - Middle East is our favorite holiday destination and most of the time we opt for Oman. Having been travelling to Oman for approx 15 years now, I can honestly say you are in very safe hands with Mark Tours. In the early days we used a different company and had some issues with couple of picks up, not turning up for the airport transfer etc and I wasn't happy how it was handled, but luckily I then found Mark Tours and have never had any issues since. I book my accommodation (mostly staying at Shangri-La), airport transfers and excursions with Mark Tours. We have done the city tours incl mosque visit, dolphin watching, a night in the desert, the mountains of Jebel Akhdar etc. All booked with a guide from Mark. We have visited with groups of friends as well as a family with teens and Mark Tours have always been able to suggest appropriate activities etc. All their guides have been very polite, with a good sense and really know the country.

The tourguide was a good... - The tourguide was a good driver, but not special polite. We have had better and more friendly tourguides on our trips to Oman.

Superb private driver service but poor knowledge about the history and all other sights - We did 2 day private tour. Communication with agency was ok, guide very friendly but service under expectations - if I would rate private driver service then I would give 5 but in terms of guide knowledge then it was really poor.
