- Machine Falls Loop Trail - PLEASE NOTE- THERE ARE NO PUBLIC FACILITIES AT THIS NATURAL AREA.\n\nOnce parked, we will begin the hike and waterfall tour of Machine Falls first by hiking along a wooded, primarily dirt path trail. \nWe will cross over streams and onto bridges. There’s a section of the trail that provides a preview of the falls prior to arriving actually to it. If you decide to go to this overlook, please proceed with caution.\n\nDuring the hike we will come to a descending trail that narrows significantly leading to the waterfall. Once at the base, we will then take a short hike into a rocky stream that will lead us directly to the waterfall itself! There’s a vast, wide section of the waterfall that’s flat, but slippery that’s great for pictures. To get to it involves a short climb upon rocks that should be proceeded with caution.\n\nAfter our time at the waterfall, we will ascend via stairs in the woods and back onto the trail.

Nashville may have been extolled by TLC, but Nashville is Nature will actually take you there! Situated in Tullahoma, TN, Machine Falls is about an hour and 15 minutes away from Downtown Nashville. It’s a natural region featuring a relatively easy to moderate ~2.4-mile loop trail through woodland and over water-soaked stones which leads to a mesmerizing waterfall. On average, the guided trek (excluding time spent at the waterfall) requires around 1 hour 15 minutes to finish, depending on each person’s level of fitness.
It’s inevitable that YOUR FEET GET WET, so come prepared! As we traverse across different sized stones in the water on the way to the waterfall, it may also become slippery.
Remember, this natural area does NOT have any public facilities.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!! Frequent storms occur in Tennessee, implying there may be instances where you need to climb over or go under trees that obstruct parts of the trail.
- For ages 12 years and older only- no exceptions. If your group arrives/ you arrive for the hike and someone under 12 is present, the hike will be canceled and you/ your group will NOT receive a refund. Parent(s)/adult(s) MUST accompany minors (12-17 years of age).
- We operate in most weather conditions; please dress appropriately. What to wear- Appropriate hiking apparel, i.e. tennis shoes (will get wet!), hiking shoes/boots (preferably waterproof), comfortable shorts, pants, and shirts.
- If you/ your group arrives more than 15 minutes late from the start time of the hike, the hiking tour will be canceled and you forfeit your refund.
- What to bring- Insect repellent, snacks, water (we will also provide these). Optional: Trekking poles, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, rain poncho.
- Participation is dependent on signed waivers that we will send via text and/or email.
- The check-in/ meetup location is mandatory. NO EXCEPTIONS, even if you know the route to Machine Falls. If you fail to meet us here, the hike will be cancelled and NO REFUNDS will be given.
- A minimum of 2 people per tour are required- no exceptions. Ex- If 3 people book, but only one person shows up for the hike, it will be canceled. The fee will only be refunded to the person who showed up.
- No pets allowed.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
