Bombay to Mumbai Tours - The tour begins with a pickup and starts at Churchgate Railway Station, where the Dabbawallas’ operations are observed with a brief introduction. After the Dabbawalla experience, the city tour commences. During the city tour, visitors will explore all the major attractions on a traveler’s itinerary in Mumbai, including the Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Palace, Town Hall, Victoria Terminus, Municipal Building, Marine Drive, Nariman Point, Chowpatty Beach, Hanging Garden, Mani Bhavan, and Dhobi Ghat (a 140-year-old site where clothes are washed, known as Mumbai’s largest human-powered washing machine). Following the city tour, the journey continues to Dharavi for a slum tour. Be prepared for at least a 1.5-hour walk inside the Dharavi slums.
Elephanta Caves
Elephanta Caves - Guests will be picked up from their location in Mumbai. From the Gateway of India, it takes about 1 hour to reach Elephanta. Upon arrival, a 2-minute toy train ride offers a fun and unique way to travel halfway to the caves. Visitors will then proceed to the Elephanta Caves, which house a collection of rock art associated with the sect of Shiva. There will be 1 hour to explore the caves and view the sculpted images of Kalyansundara, Gangadhara, and Ardhanariswara, so don’t forget to bring a camera! Afterwards, the guide will lead a visit to the Elephanta Island village for a 20-minute exploration. The tour concludes with a return trip to the Gateway of India, followed by a drop-off back at the hotel.
