The other side of Mumbai - It was an intense and moving experience. Alfiya guided us through the slum, showing us its contradictions, history, and the incredible dignity of its inhabitants. A tour to discover the other side of Mumbai. Highly recommended!

Come and see for yourself that you only thought you know what a slum was - It was a very intense experience, we thought we knew what a slum was but we were very excited to change our opinion on this matter. It was great having a guide coming from local background able to explain everything. We were very happy to learn anything and everything there is to know and even more happy to support local people.

An excellent tour. - The tour was excellent and completely changed any opinion I had initially about the slum. Our guide was brilliant and provided invaluable information about the activities that we observed. She answered all questions and was so enthusiastic about the work of Reality Tours and its education programme.

Great tour with ethical principles - We have learnt so much about the industry in Dharavi and what it is like living there. I was struck by the feeling of community and the friendliness shown to us in the residential areas. Rehana is an excellent guide, very informative, friendly and with excellent English. We thoroughly recommend this tour. It’s good to know that 80% profits go back to educational programmes in the slum.

Way different than any other tour. - The tour is way different than any other you have probably taken. The guide told me it was to demonstrate the strength and commitment of the residents. Indeed, the residents are industrious and devoted to their neighborhood. The guide, Chetan, is a former resident of the slum. He is patient and knowledgeable. The tour is organized by a non-profit dedicated to early education and career education. You will get a brief introduction to the non-profit’s mission. Two pieces of advice. The paths are uneven and broken. Wear old shoes. The paths are also a bit muddy and dirty.
