Highlights
  • Namtok Ron (Hot Spring Waterfall ) - Khlong Thom - On this full-day tour you will see the 3 main attractions of the Krabi jungle: Wat Tahm Suea (the Tiger Cave Temple), Sra Morakot (the Emerald Pool), and the natural hot spring. First you will visit the Tiger Cave Temple, aptly named because of the rock outgrowth nearby resembling a tiger’s claw. Located about 3 kilometers from Krabi Town, the temple is known as a center for meditation and its spectacular setting in the Ao Luk Thanu mountain range provides the necessary quiet atmosphere for meditation.

Some 250 monks and nuns live in the temple compounds at the moment. The main vihara (sanctum sanctorum) is inside a small shallow limestone cave, where the walls are lined by cells. The area is well lit and very well maintained to preserve the serenity of the environment.

Here you can venture up the hills by taking 1 of the 2 passages. One passage takes you up 1,239 steps to the hilltop and the other is only 130 steps up to reach a place where monks live in their small cottages. The commanding view all around is worth taking the strain to climb the hill. The whole area is full of caves and limestone rock formations. Archeologists have found remnants of ancient habitations as old as from the Stone Age. Stone tools, shards of pottery and beads, and idols of clay have all been unearthed which bear testimony to the cultural heritage of the area.

You will also trek through the jungle to the Emerald Pool/Crystal Lagoon, a fresh water pool inside the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve. The waters of this 120-square-meter pond take on a green hue thanks to an abundance of minerals from the surroundings limestone hills. The crystal clear water is unsuitable for drinking and feels thick due to its high calcium carbonate content which can cause gallstone. Here you can go for a swim to escape the heat of the day and admire the stream, one of the sources of the pool, which tumbles in at one end over rock made smooth by mineral deposits.

Another natural wonder you will see on this tour is the natural hot spring in Krabi. Out in the forest about 40 kilometers south of Krabi Town is Klong Thom Waterfall. Though the falls itself is just a cascade tumbling gently but a few meters, it is unique in that the spring water that feeds it bubbles up from the earth at temperature of more than 50 degrees Celsius. It cools a bit as it flows to the cascade and you can swim in the calm stream below for a much cooler bath.

Fun Filled Day - The hot springs and the crystal/emerald pool were busy but so awesome to experience! We also climbed the Tiger Cave Temple which was quite tiring as the steps were quite steep so bring water and take breaks but the view from the top is worth it!

A hard climb but worth it! - The stairs to get up are very hard to climb cause they’re all different sizes. With the heat on top of it made it very difficult. But we had plenty of breaks to catch our breath which made the climb much longer but still nice and 100% sweaty. There’s monkeys on your way up & down, and some of them were aggressive. Make sure to put a lock on your backpack/ purse, so that the monkeys can’t open it. Bring PLENTY of water for the trip. Once you’re at the top it’s a beautiful view. And for sure worth it. Remember it’s worth it when you’re half way and just wanna go down again😅.

Great places despite crowds - We already knew from previous previews that there would be a lot of tourists at each place and it helped us a lot to enjoy the activities being warned. We had a great time at all places which are really unique and a must see. The Hot Spring was really crowded but at the Emerald Pool we found a spot with less people to enjoy the blue water (really relaxing). The Tiger Temple was a really great adventure and the reason we booked the tour in the first place. Since we are both athletes we made it up the stairs in under 25 min but if you are not as fit you should not spend too much time looking at things on the bottom because there is not much time. We ended up waiting for a lot of people who miscalculated their time. The view from the top is beautiful and worth the hassle.

Good way to see 3 key places in krabi - Your going to visit 3 places that are naturally busy with so many tourists, I went off season and the hot springs was busy but still plenty of places to enjoy it. Emerald pool was nice (busy). The tiger temple and 1260 steps was good fun, bit time poor to do it and relax. Staff are very professional and the car was nice. I could see how some people might complain about the crowds but get over yourself. Its a good day tour at a good price

Nice places, many tourists - Having read several reviews on TripAdvisor we didn’t have our expectations set high for this trip. Although there was a lot of tourists (especially at the hot springs) it was still possible to enjoy the different locations. The time we had at the different locations was appropriate. And the lunch was delicious!

Tiger Temple! - We had a great time however we were not informed anything from the driver at the time of pick up. Didn't know anything until we arrived over an hour later. It was not a big issue as I suppose he´s not the tour guide just a driver. Once we arrived the guide was always there waiting for us when the car door opened.

Better book a taxi - Really liked the lady tour guide in the taxi, but besides that it was just a taxi taking you to these places. There was no guide/tour, it was just visiting those places all by yourself. Also skip the hot springs. If you are from Europe I recommend going to Center Parks or Landal swimmingpool for an better experience

Too much to see in a day - For me Tiger Cave Temple needs more time to explore than the 90 minutes we were given during the tour. It is a truely holy place with an amazing Jungle out there. So if I could choose, I would do the first part of the tour in a half day trip and do the Tiger Cave Temple without time limitation.

Not so nice - Crystal pool and hot springs were so crowded that we skipped it and just walk around. It just didn't feel nice to sit in a small hot spring with plenty of other people. Tiger temple was the last thing we visited. It was very hot day and we didn't have enough time to visit the temple, because it is very high on a mountain and the only way to get there is by stairs. So we missed that one. Beware of the monkeys who like to steal your stuff! But they were still very cute and fun to watch

Waste of time - Not a great trip. You spend half the day as part of the commute. The springs are so very crowded even in off season. The emerald pool is underwhelming - especially because of the crowds - about as serene as a circus. What a waste of a great day. Island hopping a much better bet!
